Money Matters ....Humbly and Respectfully Honoring God's Blessings

Money Matters ..

The last week I've been thinking about money ...Not that I'm having money issues ..but just about money in general and how hard it is to come by.

In these times Most people are squeezed for money ..there's less of it ..But I think we are all human and we all still like to shop a bit ..and buy this or that ..rather you love the mall and buying new shoes, purses, and clothes ..or like us you love antiques and Vintage living items.

Sometimes just going out and getting a little something is fun ..sometimes it lifts our spirits ..and sometimes it's just a Great Treat ...however with all the costs that arise ..the house payment ..the electric bill, shopping for school clothes and necessities ..and getting the car fixed ..etc ..it sure ends up draining the pocket book quickly.

Growing up Abbey ( mom) was always resourceful ..Papa Fred was in Construction and well when it rained he didn't work and when equipment was broke down he didn't work ..there was times in between jobs with no money ..and well they even went through the recession of the 1980's when work was scarce and money was very little. Our plates were filled with alot of beans many nights ..and we all wore clothes from the clearance rack and wore them till they fell off or didn't fit anymore and Mom always sacraficed by not buying anything new for herself that us kids would have our needs which meant bras pinned with safety pins and wore out shirts and jeans for her. We didn't have A/C in the house ..No Pool to keep us cool...in the summer and in the winter we bundled up in front of our wood burning fire place to keep warm. The One thing we did have were animals and we were taught that they were our responsibility as a family therefore that meant they had to be fed and cared for that ..so we had to share the income with them...

Abbey was given the wisdom by our good Lord to see ways to help in the times Dad's income waned. I remember once she took a part time job at a florist ..and my sister was old enough to work so she worked there too. I also remember back when "Padded Photo Albums" were the craze way back when ...Mom was making them right and left to help make extra money. She had yard sales with whatever she could find ..and believed that God would provide every morsel we needed for nourishment and would provide our needs by bringing ways to make money and he surely did that... I must say as a young little girl I never new we went without ..I never knew I didn't have that doll that was popular or that we didn't have newest electronic gadgets ..Oh my friends had them I remember that ..but it never occurred to me that I didn't have it ..I was more than content with my old dog Daisy ..My roller skates and record player and going round in circles in the garage to the song Do Run Run ...LOL !!

With all that said ..Abbey has always taught me to be resourceful and that there's always a way to make even a little money ....and sometimes that means the work is harder than the wages are big ..but being humble and not thinking your too good or your worth more than that is very important. ...One example is in recent years we made a long move ..the moving company was going to charge well over Twelve thousand dollars ..which we didn't have ...so we found a place that would bring us the semi-trailor drop it off and give us 3 days to load it ourselves. ..this meant a savings of ..8,000.00 ...So we did it ..!!! And you know what she taught me ..that I paid myself over 4,000.00 in 3 days and where could I go make that kind of money in that short of time ..So smart she is and so right ..!! No I didn't have 4,000.00 in my hand per say ..But I sure wasn't in debt to some company for it ..and In esscence I did pay myself that much for my own services.

It's all about how we look at money ..where we spend it and how we spend it ..sometimes making the right choices allows us to not only feel good about ourselves but ..it allows us to have some extra to buy that something special we want without going into debt ...but sometimes that means a little hard work and just maybe doing something we don't like ....

All that said I thought today that I would share a few ideas and give you a boost into making some extra money that just maybe you hadn't given thought too ..or you did and just decided against it ..and maybe I'll change your mind ..

1st up is the ever so Popular One ...

Have a Yard Sale

I know many people just don't want to have a yard sale ..I understand the drudgery of having to go through the house, garage or barn ..and pulling everything out ...your right it is alot of work ..and then comes putting it all out and pulling it all in each evening and maybe it's too hot or humid ..I agree there can be alot of things that make you say "NO" !!!

But consider this ..did the kids grow out of there old clothes and there still good ..What if you found that you had 50 pieces of clothing from the kids ..and you put them out and asked between 50 cents and a $1- for them ..well you could gross between $25- and $50- ...in just a few short hours and that's just on the clothes ..so do you have some old wood ..old crates ..and old broken down chair ..a Really good chair .. Some old srub brushes or some cleaning products you bought but didn't use ..(just because you didn't like them doesn't means someone else doesn't) Also ..some old dishes that you don't use or Utensils .. Really the list of things is endless !!!

And the one thing Abbey always taught me that I have found most valuable is never to look at something and say who would want that piece of junk !!! ... Seriously ..put everything out even what you consider junk ..you'll be suprised the old addage ..one man's junk is another man's treasures is REALLY TRUE !!!
The Other thing she taught me is ..if you were walking down the street and a $10- ..$20- or $50- bill etc. was laying on the ground ..would you pick it up or walk over it ?... I'm sure you answered I would walk over it ...right !!! ...NOT >.... we would all pick it up wouldn't we ..so why do we walk over and around all that money laying around our homes ..it may not be in green cash ..but all the same it took green cash to buy it ..and it can bring some green cash back your way.

By the time you pull from the house all these things you don't use anymore or don't need and put them out ..even if you made $200- from it all ..it's a heck of alot more than just giving it away ..and really if your not someone with some high paying job where are you going to make $200- tax free in just a few short hours ..?? And if you do have a high paying job ...well Abbs always taught me it doesn't matter how much you make it's all about respecting your money and realizing you gave a little of your life away to get that stuff you now don't use or call junk now !!

When you have a Yard Sale ..you don't have to have it for 8 hours a day ..Have it 1 or 2 days .. and have it from 8 or 9 in the morning till noon or 1 in the afternoon ..really that's only just 4 or 5 hours work ...for some cash in the hand ..to pay that bill or buy that special something you want ..

The work will be a bit hard ..but the end result will be worth it ..!!!

*****************************************

My Second idea for making some extra money ...is Craigs List ...

If you haven't tried it you should !!

I tried it for the first time last month and did GREAT !!

Do you have a bedroom set you would like to get rid of ???

OR
how about a dining table and chairs ...??

Maybe a desk ...or a cupboard ..shelving unit ..etc ...

It's very easy to list on Craigs List any beginneer can do it...

And don't be afraid ...just be sure to have your item put out in your garage or outside your house ...and have a friend or family member be with you when you show your piece to someone who has made an appt. to view it.

**************************************

#3 ...another way to make some very good money right now is through Gold ..yes Gold !!

Gold is at a high price right now and places are popping up everywhere looking to buy it from you.

The smallest little handful of mismatched earrings ..broken necklaces and the such can add up rather quickly.

Just search out your jewelry box for all that gold jewelry you have had over the years that you don't want anymore or is no good ..and then start going or calling places and asking what the rate they pay is. Find the one that pay's the most ..even do some bartering by letting one shop know another is willing to pay a higher rate that do they want to pay more for you to bring it to them ..Hey it's always worth a shot right !!!

Anyhoo ..that small bit of jewelry in your palm could mean 4 or $500 bucks .. ..you never know ..I would even be happy with $50- ...

************************************

So there's 3 ways to make some quick Cash ...a Great way to quickly pay a bill ...buy some groceries ..or even some extra spending cash to take to the mall or your favorite flea market.

There's always ways if you just think about it ..to put some extra cash in your pocket ..sometimes it requires work beyond what we like ..but if we are humble and willing to respect the money and the things that our good Lord has provided for us ..He will honor your actions and Bless you in return.

I know that to be very true ...One year when I was little ..God Honored My Parents for their humble attitudes and their respect for what he had provided and when the tax man made out their taxes that year ..He told them he didn't understand how they could have made it on the meager income that showed on paper ..how was it possible there was even money for food ...??? God sent Blessings in amazing ways that year ...and brought us through ..and the Glory was all his !!!

Even Today ..when life is a bit more comfortable than those years when I was young ..I can say countlessly that God continues to honor our home with many blessings and in part I know that is because we have humbled ourselves to do whatever work he put's in front of us and because we are thankful for even the things we now don't use..thankful enough to see that they still have value.

So get inspired ..Be Humble and Find Respect ...in all that God Has Blessed you with ..and he'll bless you all over again !

Wishing you all a beautiful Week and Many of God's Blessings to pour out on you !

Hands To Work Hearts To God ...

Sincerely ...Sara

Removing Veneer or Laminate from Antique Furniture Tutorial ...

FREE Doesn't always = EASY !!!

Last weekend ..while out galevanting around ..we spied this old cupboard outside a flea market on the roadside ..we Inquired as to it's price and were promptly told it was free for the taking ..and us Farm Girls couldn't resist free ...

However sometimes FREE comes with a price ...and that price is a 4 letter word we call " WORK " ..

The great thing is were not afraid of work ...but sometimes you run into a few issues you have to overcome ...LIKE ...

This is our Cupboard/Chest of Drawers ... we got ..and it's got lots of potential and great lines ...the One BIG issue was that it has a laminated top and doors ...the laminate on the top had lifted all around the edges about 1 to 3 inches in and was easy to rip off but from there in was this deep ridge of laminate that wasn't coming off ....So what were these farm girls to do ..but dig into our book of tricks and figure out the best solution to removing the laminate ...

If you have ever tried removing laminate before you may have run into alot of Frustrating issues ..if you tried sanding it off and spent endless hours with little results there's a good reason for that ..Laminate is a hard wood and adhered with hyde glue...Both near impossible to sand and if you do it's ALOT of work ..The Trick is Moist Heat !!

So Abbey and I thought we would give a tutorial this week while working on this piece on the easiest route to removing laminate that we know.

The tools you will need are ...

A good sturdy hammer

A sturdy 3 to 4 inch blade putty knife

a measuring cup for some water for your iron

a bowl with water and a wash rag or old cloth that can be ruined ..

And Most importantly the tool that is a MUST an old iron ... (we suggest picking one up for this ocassion at a yard sale , estate sale, or second hand store ..) It need not be the best iron just one that works ...

First ...Place your wash cloth or old rag in water ...get it good and wet not sopping but enough that it slightly drips ..

Lay it on top of the laminate areas only NOT on the bare wood if any is revealed .. Lay it folded in half.

Let it sit a minute or two so the water penetrates the top layer at least ..Prepare your iron by adding water for it to steam if it has a steam button setting make sure it's ON .... make sure the iron is set on the hottest setting ...and then apply your iron atop the wash rag/cloth ...
(PLEASE USE CAUTION HERE) Once the Iron contacts the cloth remove your hand immediately ..it will steam ALOT ..and you don't want to burn your hands or arms !!! Make sure your children are kept away as well as your animals ....this is a VERY HOT project and all caution needs to be considered ...BE RESPONSIBLE and THINK !!!

(TIP) Always place your cloth near the edge of the laminate ....it's easiest working from the edges in to lift the laminate.

After the iron has set there for at least a minute or more (use your own judgement and experiment a few times to see if you can add more time for a better result) ...then remove it CAREFULLY ..the rag will stick to the bottom so be careful taking it off you don't burn yourself ( grabe the rag on an end the iron wasn't touching as the iron isn't going to cover the entire cloth)..at this point we put the rag back in the bowl of water ...

Then Grab your Putty Knife and place it at the moistened edge ..and apply it at a slight angle so as not to dig into the wood but to get under the laminate..then use your hammer on the handle end ..driving the putty knife under the layers of laminate in a forward motion.

Here you have to use your own eye ..the laminate will lift where it's moistened ..but once you hit the dry area stop ....or the laminate will lift the wood with it and leave you with gouges which you probably don't want.

Also somtimes the top layer of lamintae will peel off only and you have to re-apply the steam ...to remove the deep layer to reveal the wood. It's just a matter of learning as you go ..once you have made a few passes ..you'll get the hang of it and you'll be a pro at it.

You can see here in the center where the laminate still is ....on the front edge the dark laminate top was removed the first pass with steam heat ..so now we re-applied the wet cloth and iron to get the next layer wettened so the glue starts to lift letting that lower layer loose from the wood base ... This also gives you an idea of what the wood should look like in comparison to the laminate layers.

We worked at the center for about an hour and a half before it was totally removed and we learned if we applied the wet cloth to the areas we weren't chipping away at... while we were chipping away at another section ... the other areas softened up and when we applied the iron to them ..they peeled much easier ..so the moister the better and the Heat from the iron is a must ..the combination is the trick to getting this laminate up easier !

Now an hour and a half is a bit long ..but we were learning as we went ..however it's actually pretty quick considering the horror stories I have heard other's tell about in removing laminate ...

Also if you are workin alone I suggest you have a place you can position your piece of furniture in... like agains a wall so when you are banging away at the laminate to lift it ..you have some resistance so your piece doesn't start sliding from the jostling it's getting ...

Once your finished you'll be happy with the end result ...

Here's our end result of the top ..and I think we did a great job ...We had one little problem which I'll touch on below ...

But first of all I want to show you how the iron looks at the end so you don't die of heart failure and so you realize you " SHOULD NOT " use your good clothes iron to do this !!!

Yep it's thick with glue ..even though we didn't touch it directly to the top and layed it on the wet cloth ..still this is the result ..Now I have some ideas for cleaning this up but as of this post haven't done it ..so as soon as I do ..I'll let you all know how to clean this mess up if possible ..

The one issue we had as I mentioned above is if you keep hitting away at the putty knife when you get into dry territory ..it causes the wood to lift with the laminate ..and you get these little gouges ..Now I can fill it with wood putty or sand it out which is fine ( we plan on sanding the top anyhow) ..but now we have a bit more work added on ..so to save yourself keep in mind when the wood gets dry stop and moisten it again with the wet cloth and hot iron ..Ultimately you may have this happen but I wouldn't worry too much ..your working with an old piece and it's bound to have some character and charm marks anyhow ..your just adding a few it didn't have to begin with ...

Once you finish you'll be left with this ..a great big pile of laminate shavings ...good and sticky from the heated glue ...and ready to head out to the trash ...

That's it for this tutorial ...I hope it helps you out in the future or even now on a piece your working on ..

We haven't started on the doors I'm actually going to see how they look sanded out as the laminate isn't coming off severely there anyhow and I like a little bit of age and charm around the doors anyhow ..

I I have not explained anything well enough OR If you have any questions ..feel free to leave them in your comment and I'll answer your questions in a special post next week giving time for everyone to get there questions in...

If you need your question answered sooner due to the fact you are working on it NOW ...leave that in your post and I'll try and comment right away with an answer for you.

Until Next Time ..Over an Out from these two Sweet Magnolias Farm Gals ...

The Finished Piece ....

Double The Fun ...a Jam Packed Junking weekend

What a weekend ...!!!

This weekend was packed full of fun ...but oh boy are we tired today. All the being tired in the world though was worth the fun weekend we had...

Friday Morning Abbey and I met up with Sheila of Tattered Goods once again and headed off early that morning for another round of fun at a Great Sale ....

We shopped till our pocket books hurt but we found alot of Great Vintage Finds that Sheila can't wait to share with you at her store in Fallbrook, CA as well as the Chateau De Fleurs show in September and that goes ditto for us.

I have to just say it's been great to meet and befriend Sheila ..she's given us a bit of hope where we had lost some that is in Friends. In this fun business of Vintage finds over the years lets just say when it comes to people we've had our share of sadness in behaviours and attitudes ..making us a bit Shy if you will in getting too close to anyone for fear things would come out bad. It's been nice to find a friend that shares and shares alike ...and what I mean by that is ..Sheila and Us (abbey and I) well we have very similiar tastes and loves for the same things ..and therefore it can be pretty easy to become hurt if someone gets something you want.. I know that sounds pretty Petty but believe me I've expereinced it with people...We all figured out a great system and that's to share. We just went along found our goods and helped each other find things and if there where any extras of anything well we just split them down the middle and that way we both got some....It's made for a wonderful shopping experience together ...and If only others could find that happy medium it would make for some great experiences with their own friends ..you know it's not always about what you get but about the good time you have....Now all that being said ...

After about 3 hours of digging for our fun Finds friday morning we paid up and then it was the dreaded part ..Loading it all up ...

I condensed boxes so we could get it all in the truck ..while Abbs figured how it was going to go in and ..Sheila was waiting in the back of the truck for the hand off and to start getting everything stacked in place ..

A Girl always needs to look her best when Loading !!!

A few of the finds we got ...this totally cute pink and red chair ..and these old glass light caps ...

How about all these windows ...Sheila got a few and so did we ..and I'm sure we both have similiar ideas for them along with adding our own touch to them ...I'm sure you'll be seeing them in their new life at her shop or the September show ...

I love the cabinet another one of those times with full hands when I found it ..cabinet in one hand ..a wagon in the other and a box full under my arm ..looking for help so I could keep shopping .....what's a gal to do !!! LOL !! Luckily a nice young man came along and helped me out ...

Sheila got this whole stack of old sock stretchers a wire shoe rack..a cast iron stand ..and some old chicken feeders .... I love them all but am partial to the sock stretchers ..we were going to split them ..but I already have some here at home ..so there all Sheilas and I can't wait to see them displayed !!!

The Truck was only Half way full and it was looking a little sketchy that everything was going to fit ..Plus we were headed down to a place were I was picking up some old wood and I kept wondering it was going to happen ... I should really never wonder..Abbey is an amazing packer ..when you think there isn't any spare room left ..she finds it .....and thanks to her once again we got everything in right down to the wood later that day and a few other goods I might add ..

Oh Yes did I mention these yummy Antique doors ..they are too too wonderful !!! I'm a bit in love with them at the moment and imagining all sorts of ways to use them. Isn't it funny the castoffs of today that make some of us giddy !!! I have never had the chance to say it ..but if I did ...I'd say I'd take a chipped up tattered and "Crusty" old door ..table ..shelf ..you get the idea ..over a diamond ring ..I'm definitely not the glamorous type ..just down to earth and in love with my vintage finds !!!

By the time we were finished ..the tail gate wouldn't close only the door of the camper shell so Papa Fred strung the tie downs around them best as they could be put so the miles ahead of us would be safeguarded ..as we had quite a day still left ahead of us ..

After we loaded and we were filthy ..our hands black ..and our clothes caked in dirt ...Papa Fred decides us 3 girls should get a picture together ...
Abbey far right ... Sheila in the Middle and myself on the Left ...Oh gosh I'm rethinking the whole take pictures and pull my hair back thing ..

After this most flattering photo we all headed off to lunch ...of course Sheilas Favorite El Pollo Loco ...although I was in a cheeseburger mood and papa fred mexican so we got our food and took it to El Pollo so Sheila and Abbs could have some healthy chicken ..

Afterwards we headed out for some more fun ...to a favorite haunt of ours ...and back home ..only to have plans for Sunday to head out early to the Long Beach Flea Market.
Yesterday at the flea market We had a Great time ...Filled our Market Carts to the brim ...and I got Sun Burned like a lobster ..I burn easy ... Afterwards we had a great lunch at Lucilles BBQ ..Yummy !!!!

...and then on the way home we took Sheila to Country Roads antique mall where she had never gone ..I'm pretty sure she liked it ..LOL !!!

...another full day and I think we were all ready to get home and call it a day ...we all got lots of fun new finds and most of all just had a great time enjoying each others company !!! Now it's time for all of us to get to work ...cleaning ..pricing ..listing...and tagging all our new goods ...

To read some more about our fun times visit Sheila's Blog Tattered Goods I know she'd love to hear from you !!!

I'll be listing some new finds in our Etsy Shoppe this week so check back for some fun pieces ...

Until then ...Have a Fun Filled Vintage Week ..

Blessings ..Sara

It all ADDS up !!!

Among my many finds last weekend ...I shared in my last post this Antique Cash Register that I purchased ..

Remember I said I was going to be dismantling it .....Well now don't get upset ...It didn't work !
All the keys were froze up and wouldn't budge....
So the numbers in the top didn't show and that was a shame they are way to cute
wait till you see em ...
And the drawer didn't work properly either ..and it was either I save it from a landfill
OR
bring it home and
dismantle it into some wonderful pieces ...!!!

So Here are all the Keys ...Now mind you the highest price on this register was $3- ...
Are the keys not awesome !!!
I am in love of course ...so I'm not sure yet If I'm going to incorporate them in something I make...

OR

Sell them at our next show in September ...Hmmmmm !!!

Are they not just spectacular !!!

***************************************

So ...the numbers that would pop up in the register as the cashier would add up an order ...the ones I said were not showing ...
well here they are ...

O.k. I'm in love again ...these are awesome !!! I'm so glad I bought this register and had the foresight that day for what it could become !

Now here is the guts ..and after I got it out of the casing ..Well it's pretty wonderful !!!
All cast Iron ..lots of rollers with #'s and gears that can be seen ...BUT...
it's covered in Black grease ..
You should have seen me after I took it apart ..Oh and Papa Fred helped me ..I needed some man power popping off the keys and he was it !!! We were both a little black at the end and had to clean up with some orange soap.

So the guts are so cool Papa Fred has some special way to get it all clean ...and then Yep you guessed it ..I'll be offering the guts for sale ..a great industrial style piece of Architecture that well have your guest's talking about the good old day and "What is that" ??? LOL !!!

I did get the casing apart in One piece and it's cute but I ended up putting it somewhere I couldn't get to it easily before I took picts ..so you'll just have to use your imagination on that ..think of it as the skin of the register ...

I must admit I really enjoyed working with Papa Fred to dismantle this piece ..and I just liked dismantiling it period ..it's a nice change to tear something apart and find the good in it Verses always creating something out of stuff ...

So if on your next junkin adventure you spy yourself a Non-working antique Register ..check out the parts and see what you can get out of it ..and of course the Price has to be right ..Mine definitely was !

Happy Junking from one Junk Sister to all the Rest of you Junk Sisters !!!

Another Truck Full Friday !!!

So we had another fun day ..yesterday ..that is Me ..Abbey and Papa Fred ..

Remember last week the sale I shared with you all that we went to with our new Junk Sista Sheila ...

Well this is an ongoing sale until the place is cleared out ..so we went back for more treasures this week and we were not dissapointed in the least !!!

We are always up for a good adventure and a good sale and sales like this just don't roll around too often in our neck of the woods ..finding good junk isn't natural to the area we live in overall ...so right now there's cash flowing out and not too much in ...but I'll work on the incoming flow very soon.

We only found a few things .....

Just a truck load full ...LOL !!! these 3 pictures above I took as we had just got home and started to unload ..now the issue is where does it all go ..PLEASE don't say the garage ..it's full ..and inside the house ..WELL that's another story ...and no we don't have a barn ..but if ever we needed one ..it's NOW !!! However I don't think the HOA is going to allow that and the neighbors sure wouldn't see the benefit or the beauty in a barn either ..LOL !!! They just don't have imagination now do they...

I brought all the boxes that were full to the brim in the house so we could start sorting things out and taking it to the kitchen to line it up on the counter for a good scrubbing 20 years of dirt ..it's bad ..and it stinks to high heaven ...(exactly what is high heaven ? I use these phrases passed down to me and then when I write or type them I see them and think what in the heck does that really mean ???)

These pictures make the pile look so small ..so not the way it was ...

This Mannequin has a funny story ...so I wanted this vintage wall sink that I saw advertised at this sale ..and first thing I found it and started hauling it to the checkout to make my pile ..Now mind you the sink is cast iron and should take 2 hands arms and all my strength to carry ...which at first this is how I carried it ...Well ....I was headed up the aisle and too my right side I see this old wood and paper mache mannequin ..and I'm NOT repeat NOT leaving it behind ...it's amazing the strength just one arm has when you are in "DESPERATE" need of it ..I managed the sink in one hand the mannequin in the other and hit it back to the tables and aisles to keep going !!

So last week at the sale I saw this register ..and it's in pretty poor condition ..obviously that sentiment wasn't mine alone ..but many others because it was still there ..However I saw this piece with new eyes as I looked it over ...

You can't see it but behind the glass at the top ..are the old pricing signs in metal and decorative that popped up when the machine was being used ..I started researching immediately how to get these signs loose and I figured it out ..then the hand keys are very cute those will be coming off and I was thrilled to find the wood divided money drawer still inside ..so I will be dismanteling it ..and who knows what the guts are like ..may find some more jewels inside ...!!!

So thinking are day was over we left .....and had lunch ..then headed home ..a little less than half way home Abbey decides we need to go back for something ..so I turn the truck around and head back ...and YES ..it was gone ..but now that I was back why not double check and make sure I hadn't overlooked some Gem I couldn't do without right ...!!! LoL

So that morning this piece was there and well I was attracted to it ..but that was it ..

I know your wondering what it is right ?? It's an old air raid siren ....so what you ask well I do with it ..??? Do you see it's shape .....well being that my brain lately has fast forwarded to Christmas ..I saw a Christmas Bell ...The handle top will swivel up and allow me to hang it ..and I'm sure I'll be thinking about adding some lettering or something ..it'll be a thought in progress.

These are some of the baskets I got ...I really have a weakness for baskets have for years ..even before the got popular ...

This wood bowl filled with sprinkler parts were a few more gems we got ...

This Lamp base I got last week ...I'm in love with it...can't wait to re-wire it and make a romantic shade for it !!!

An Old Clock and some Old Razors ...Love Em !!!

We took a chance on this phone figured if it didn't work it would be so cute just as a decorator piece....well first thing yesterday I whipped it out plugged it in and it works ..so cool ..I love the old phones ..they just don't make things like they used too ..technology can be cool ..but Vintage can be totally Cooler !!!

Here's just a small stack of what's on the counter still waiting to be washed ..Aren't these old thermos's Great ....I have so fun ideas for these ....

And Last ..but by no means did this touch on the half of it are these 2 old Galoshes ..that I Fell in love with !!! Only 1 of each were in the boxes ..so strange ..but heck I'm o.k. with that Now I get to not feel guilty for splitting up a set to get creative with ..Don't you just hate that when you get a perfect match set and you want to create with them individually but all you can think about is splitting up the set ...Uggg ..it's a terrible feeling ...LOL !!

So this ends my Fun Truck Full Friday Post ...As for this girl ..it's back to work here at home this week ..and Yep you can look for another post next weekend ..because I'm never finished searching for treasure far and wide !!

Wishing you all a fun filled ..Sunshiny ..and happy weekend..full of Beautiful people and lot's of Laughter and God's Blessings Pouring out on you !!!

Happy Days ...Sara

Next up ...just finished this one this week ..the matching "Ruffled White" Vintage Girl Apron ...Seven Layers of yummy white Ruffles 2 deep pockets ..Perfect outerwear over your capri's !!!

This Apron is one of my FAV'S ...."Strawberry Party " ...one of my favorite vintage linens I found throught the years ..with Embroidered strawberries is front and center ...makes me feel like tip toeing through the strawberry patch with a big basket ...

The "Sweet Retweet" ...Layers of Vintage Lace and linens ...positively scrumptious ..Vintage bird and bird cage images peeking out the right side .. ...hop on over to our ETSY SHOP for more about this apron ...and the others....

Meet "Farm Girl in Burlap" ...a fun design ..for those that don't want it too fussy ..but still want that feminine touch !! .. 3 deep pockets ..Beautiful aqua and tan strip rosettes ..and vintage eyelet ....

All of our Aprons and Totes are Custom Designs ...sometimes People don't understand the wording Custom Design ..and it actually has alot of meaning to us.

Each of our pieces is "NOT" made for a pattern you just run down to the store and grab. Mind you following a pattern can be tricky enough ..but each apron and tote we make ...we design as we go..ensuring that the vintage laces, and fabrics, and linens we use fit just right and look beautiful too.

Any one piece can take between 4 and 6 hours to create from start to finish ...yes it's rather time consuming but we do love our work ..and you can be sure that the piece you receive is full of Love ...!!!

We Hope you enjoy our aprons and totes ..there will be more to come ..we try to work on them everyday ..especially with 2 shows ahead of us ..we have alot of work to keep up with ...

Wising you all happy days ..full of Sunshine Dreams ..!!!
Blessings ...Sara
