Just in from Apronology ..

We were so excited this week to receive a box from Apronology ..

Containing our 3 Sweet Farmhouse Aprons that were featured in the newest Volume.

It's been since last July since they went off to be interviewed ..and it was so much fun to see them up close and personal once again.

No matter how many pictures we take ..it's never like seeing them in person ..there are so many details that just cannot be seen nor remembered by us after we make them ..once they leave our home.

Farmhouse Chic .... Will that's us and several others in this issue ..

Farmhouse Romance ..a style that defines sweet Magnolias Farm to a tee ..Simple, soft, worn, tattered, well loved and where a little country meets a little shabby ..

Our Farmhouse Aprons grew in our hearts early last year 2010 while working hard to bring new offerings to our Shows.

Our love of Lace and Vintage Linens ..Inspired us to create Unique One of a Kind Custom Aprons ..so that each person purchasing one would have something not mass produced, something unique only to them, something that made their heart sing as much as ours in the creating process...

Our Farmhouse Romance "Vintage Girl" Collection began with just 10 aprons ..

Ultimately we had dreams of racks of them hanging at our shows ..but as we realized the lengthy process it took in creating each apron Unique .. We realized that 10 was a very bright round number to begin with ..

Each of our aprons from start to finish can taks us between 4 and 6 hours to design .. Finding the right linens ..finding the right antique lace trims ..to layer and layer in just the right way and making sure that we are completely happy with the end result as it is our passion to make each one to our best creative ability so that each one is dearly loved by the one person choosing it exclusively for themself.

Today we are sharing .. 3 of our positively favorite aprons ..that have now found sweet homes to treasure them ...

This Vintage Strawberries and Cream Apron ...was at the top of our favorite list .. Purchased by a momma no -less for her sweet little girl ... You see momma was a photographer and couldn't wait to do a photo shoot of her sweet lil punkin wearing this apron ...

When I (sara) began working with this apron and creating it ..I started with the Strawberry embroidered tablecloth ..it was a piece that was so worn and tattered that only this sweet remnant was worthy of saving .... But I loved it so ... the stitching of the strawberries was so exquisite .. And for fun I added little basket images to the top of the apron

Oh did I mention ..that these aprons are all the 3 pocket tool style aprons ..you wouldn't know it by looking at them we've disguised the pockets so well ..but there are 3 large deep pockets perfect for keeping everything including the kitchen sink in ..LOL !!!

Our Number 2 pick favorite apron ...Sparkles and Sparrows ...

We love Birds ... So the addition of the bird images to this early vintage linen front was perfection ...

And you ask what about the sparkle ? Well along the scalloped edge if you enlarge the picture by clicking on it and look closely ..you'll see we added vintage prisms ... A perfectly unexpeted yet delightful element added to this apron ..

This Sweet apron was headed to a tea party when it was purchased ...

Our 3rd Pick ... The Vintage Gypsy ...

O.k. so this one is scrumptious ..it's Positively Romantic... and It felt so good on ...

The Definition of Femininity ! ...

Layers of Lace ..aged Seam Binding ...

and Vintage Jewelry Finds ...

With long tendrils of Lace hanging, swishing and flowing ....freely to and fro ..like the Vintage Gypsy it is.

Our little Vintage Gypsy Found a Beautiful Home and If I remember correctly went to a wedding on the Beach ..accessorized over a white dress ..

Which is exactly what our vision was for them to be ..Aprons that were not bound by their domestic definition of Kitchen Duty ...but elevated to become a fashion accessory, wether romancing a pair of blue jeans, a casual dress or even a pair of overalls.

Aprons a Beautiful Way to feel feminine ..a Great Way to serve a Garden party, Dinner or Luncheon ... Perfect to wear marketing, gardening or walking ..and they are perfect when a tote or purse just won't do.

Abbey and I have loved lace for as far back as I can recall ... before it's popularity we were buying it up and creating with it ...because we loved it, and that's all that mattered.

Our Love of lace has drawn us in many directions ..from creating curtains and valances out of vintage tablecloths ..or using a quaker Lace tablecloth over a solid colored sheet on a bed for a wonderfully romantic appeal .. to name a few uses.

In 2010 ...we became enamored with the idea of creating Aprons from our vintage lace ..and layering it and layering it until it was absolutely scrumptious .. In so doing our Sweet Magnolias Farm Vintage Girl Aprons ...came about ...

Spring Time and Going back in Time

It's been an interesting week here at Sweet Magnolias Farm ....

This week Abbey and I have been a bit out in left field ...unable to get really creative in making things ..we opted to work on some different things ..

One was changing the backdrop for our pictures ..and trying to go a bit lighter ..we hope you will enojoy our new look in photos.

The other was digging in some old boxes we've been carrying around for 15 years ..clear back from the days we live in MO ...

We had a few boxes full of vintage linens that we aquired at a farm sale ..Yep 15 yrs ago and had all the best intentions of getting to them but never did ..so this week Abb went through and pulled out some cute aprons and other linens ..washed them and ironed them ..and below are just a few that we have listed either on our website or Etsy this week.

OH ..I had to share this great cannister set with you ..found this recently and loved the look of it ..was going to do something creative with them ..then changed my mind as they are great just as they are..so they are now being offered in our Etsy Shop.

And These Two Pretty Pink Sweeties aren't they just lovely ..so perfectly springy and with Easter on it's way ..they would be just charming to hostess in. We've added these 2 to our Etsy shoppe.
