It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Sweet Magnolias Farm

I hope this post finds you all having a beautiful Sunday Evening...

After a long hard several weeks of work toward preparing for the Christmas Open House at The Vintage Peddler .. today I am taking a much needed day of rest. And Oh how my body is appreciating it.

This weekend was the Christmas Open house at The Vintage Peddler and Abbey and I decked our shop space out with lot's of Christmas Cheer.

We started last Tuesday on the top of the portico above our shop space creating an "Old Fashioned Christmas" display ... From our very vintage southern Velvet and tulle dress.. embellished with Rhinestones and Camillias ... I found this beauty a few years back in a small town antique mall hiding on a clothing rack tucked in with some polyester 70's beauties..

Some Greenery, Lights, bulbs, of course a light up snowman ..and my 1960's Cellophane Christmas tree that I found at a thrift store a few years back .. I see the small cellophane trees occasionally but this 5 footer is a rarity .. I love the old fashioned sticky style branches it has...

Below the Portico our shop space got a complete makeover from top to bottom .. Wednesday through Friday it all began to get dressed in Holiday Style....

Even Petunia I mean Bernard .. you see her I mean his name had to have a change ... I brought this guy home a few weeks back and had immediately began referring to my find as I was loading it in my car as Petunia .. My mom decided to tell me that it was a he and not a she which I figured but I just liked calling it Petunia well we couldn't have that so after he was decked out in his lighted garland and bulbs and ready for Christmas I changed his name to Bernard ... He's keeping watch over the aisle way and the cash register ...

The Shop is filled to the brim with Antique, Vintage and Christmas decor ..
From Hand painted signs and Pails..

To  this very cool channel letter lighted open sign ..

A cute vintage 1970's handmade sled that I gave a cute make over to..

Lots of new Farm Girl Fancies Upcycled Flannel Shirts ... Designed, Created and Made by me ..

Some darling wood Candy Cane Pens and Magnetic Christmas Note Pads .. make the perfect stocking stuffers and gifts ...

And Lots of great ironstone serving pieces, vintage kitchen wares and our very own Sweet Magnolias Farm Christmas Flour Sack Towels ....

It's been a few years since I last made and offered my hand sculpted paper mache Christmas pieces ..but this year I decided to bring it back and made a little over a dozen pieces .. several found new Home sweet Homes this weekend ...

I'll Continue to add more Christmas Cheer over the coming weeks .. so if you're local or passin' through be sure and stop in and take a stroll around the shop .. And if you're too far to come in I hope you enjoyed a little stroll around our shop space through the photos ..

You can visit our shop space at The Vintage Peddler in Springfield, Missouri 1432 E Trafficway

I hope to have our Christmas Flour Sack Towels available in our Etsy Shop by late this week for those of you who have been waiting .. I'll post as soon as they are available...

All new Vintage Goodness at "The Vintage Peddler"

Well keeping shop is always a lot of work .. from finding antique and vintage goods that you love and hope other will love.. to cleaning, tagging, bookkeeping, hauling, and decorating and I'm sure I left a few other things out .. it's not all fun and games.

Over my 20 + yrs of selling vintage and hand made's I can't tell you how many times I have run into gals that say they are going to get shop space because it looks like so much fun .. Well it is fun but there's a whole lot more to it than fun. It's a never ending daily job that's a lot of work and if you sell online too like I do .. my hours are all day every day .. the door doesn't close at 5 .. cause all Y'all .. get home from work or the gym or pickin' up the kids and then need to ask questions or want quick shipping and there I am at 9 at night wrapping up some goodies to get them out quick so I can make all Y'all Happy ! .. And that's my pleasure.. no complaints here .. I love what I do .. and wouldn't want to do anything else .. but just sharing that it's a full time job and it's not always fun .. most the time but it has it's moments when you just look and thing what am I doing ?

Well I am having so much fun and I've got lots of work to go with that fun ... with my new shop space at The Vintage Peddler.

In years past I've always had big spaces like 12 x 14  etc .. that's a lot of space to fill and keep filled.
This new shop space is 4 ft deep x 12 ft long .. I wondered how I wold like having a shallow long space since I've never worked with those dimensions before .. well I'm loving it .. and Now that I said that about the dimensions it's come to mind that Abbey and I used to do Glitterfest long ago and we set up on 8 foot tables and then went up so this is sorta similar and I loved the challenge Glitterfest was so that's probably why I'm loving this space ..

Anyhow I'm just jibber jabbering on about a whole lot of nothing .. I wanted to share with y'all that this last weekend my shop space got it's first revamp since opening it. I was so blessed to sell my big cupboard and with that sold It opened the door for me to add a few more cupboards and lots of new vintagey goodness ..

So here it is Enjoy ..

If you would like to visit our shop space .. it is located in "The Vintage Peddler" antique Mall in Springfield, MO 1432 E. Trafficway.

My new shop space at The Vintage Peddler in Springfield, MO Spring 2019

Well if you read one of my last posts you know I talked about making new changes in my business. I talked about diversifying and getting a few shop spaces in a few different places.

So my new but smaller shop space that I have taken is at the Vintage Peddler Antique Mall in the heart of Springfield, MO.

For it being a much smaller space than what I had, I'm amazed at the amount of product I have been able to get into it. What a blessing that is.

This shop space inspired me to design it in what I call "Rustic Romance" .. To me Rustic romance is antique and vintage items that are worn, tattered, chippy, rustic goodness ... items that have a story .. one's that are by no means perfect. And the romance comes in, in soft goods such as pillows, linens and Florals, which I'll be adding in the weeks to come.  We have a pinterest board called "Rustic Romance" HERE.. a style that I love and it gives me inspiration for design and display ..it's been one of my favorite boards that we have created over the years.

We've got the shop space up and running and of course I still feel like it needs some tweaking and fine tuning and after today's Spring Shop Hop with several items selling it will already need a little TLC this coming week.  Over the weeks ahead I'll enjoy adding more antique, vintage and handmade finds.. I can't wait to get a few more hand made goods added too.

Here are several photos of what we've done so far .. and as I said the Spring Shop Hop at "The Vintage Peddler" Started today and will continue through the weekend .. so if you're local or passin' through be sure and stop by and enjoy some amazing shopping.

Enjoy the photos and address of TVP I will add at the bottom of the post.

And I want to say a Big Thank You to my Sister in Christ Debra who has a heart after Christ and listened to that still small voice who led her to bless my life and inspire me to make some changes I had been praying about for a long time. Our Dear Lord led her into my life and used her to answer those prayers. Thank You Debra for listening to Gods leading I am ever grateful to you. Much Love sent your way! ..

Until Next Time...
