Sale Day Finds ..AND ....Just listed on Etsy ...

I don't give up and I'm not a quitter ...and even when I'm tired ...I just keep pushing ..LOL !!!

What a Busy day it's been ..did I mention the word "REST" in my last post ...???

Well just wipe that word away ...

Abbey and I had every intention of getting up today having a restful morning and then getting the house back in order ...you know how that goes ...when the option of shopping is given ..it's such a hard choice now isn't it. LOL !!!

Well we chose do I even need to say ...Yes shopping ..we headed out to hit the local garage sales ..and drove for about 20 minutes and found NADA ...when on the way home we happened on one lone sale that didn't look like much and Abbey said go on and I said well I think I'm going to stop and just see ..So we did ...about 3 hours later yes 3 we came home ..with a back seat full of ...should I say it o.k. you twisted my arm ... Antique and Vintage Lace ...3 antique violin cases, an antique floor lamp ...a vintage night table ..and well some other stuff too !

Of course the Lace was my favorite ..I mean oodles of it ..as if I don't have enough ..should enough really be in an antiquers vocabulary anyhow ..I mean really where do we stop with collections anyhow ? They say to decorate in odd #s 3's 5's 7's etc ....just about the time we think we might end a collection we realize we are in the evens and just need 1 more to make it odd right ..and then what happens we go out on our search for the 1 perfect piece to finish out the collection and we find 2 ..making us even again so that we have to plan another trip to get that next odd numbered piece ...ROFL !!!! Well that's how I feel about lace ..just when I think I've packed another drawer full and that's the end I find some more and well a girl just can't walk away can she ? Isn't that somewhere in the Antique Book of Mortal Sins ...!

Anyhow ...with all the excitement somewhere I found some energy I didn't have when I rolled out of bed this morning ...I had that great find energy ....Well that was until we returned home and all the cleaning was staring me in the face ...and somehow I felt tired again ...LOL !!! No we got some cleaning done ...

Really why is it I love lace ...? I 'm not sure how to put it in words ...I just know it makes my tummy tumble inside ...and I love to look at it ...

I was telling Abbey today ...that I remember as a child when she took me to Jessica McClintocks store when I was a little girl ... they had lace and yardage for sale way back when ..as well as when we went to Fabric King ..I wanted to stay in those stores and not leave ...I loved all the rolls of ribbon and lace and bolts of yardage ..I loved hearing the scissors cut through the fabric and click along the cutting table ..I remember it actually made me so relaxed as a child I could have curled up right there on the spot and napped ...So you see my love of lace goes way back ..I think it's just part of my being ....

Did I mention the heap of vintage jewelry we got too ...

And how about this old silk cording card ..this will make for fabulous graphics !!!

Oh and another love ...buckles ..rhinestones ..metal and mother of Pearl Oh My !

Decorative Iron work ....now these are Fabulous ....and I'm sure they'll be headed to our shops very soon ... along with all the other finds I didn't even get pictured here ...

Well after shopping and some cleaning ...I decided it was finally time to start getting some things back in our Etsy shop ..and to start with I listed 4 of our Vintage Girl Upcycled Necklaces tonight ...

I took Pictures yesterday ...and figured I couldn't let them get dusty sitting in their file and I better get in gear and get them listed ...so I just dug deep found some energy somewhere heavens know's where it was hiding at ...and just finished listing them ...

I thought I would give you a sneek peek at the 4 I listed ...and of course I'll be listing more hopefully over the next few days ..

Well that's it for today folks ....I think I'm just plain nuts ...but hey that's o.k. it will just make life interesting for those around me ...ha ha !!!

Double The Fun ...a Jam Packed Junking weekend

What a weekend ...!!!

This weekend was packed full of fun ...but oh boy are we tired today. All the being tired in the world though was worth the fun weekend we had...

Friday Morning Abbey and I met up with Sheila of Tattered Goods once again and headed off early that morning for another round of fun at a Great Sale ....

We shopped till our pocket books hurt but we found alot of Great Vintage Finds that Sheila can't wait to share with you at her store in Fallbrook, CA as well as the Chateau De Fleurs show in September and that goes ditto for us.

I have to just say it's been great to meet and befriend Sheila ..she's given us a bit of hope where we had lost some that is in Friends. In this fun business of Vintage finds over the years lets just say when it comes to people we've had our share of sadness in behaviours and attitudes ..making us a bit Shy if you will in getting too close to anyone for fear things would come out bad. It's been nice to find a friend that shares and shares alike ...and what I mean by that is ..Sheila and Us (abbey and I) well we have very similiar tastes and loves for the same things ..and therefore it can be pretty easy to become hurt if someone gets something you want.. I know that sounds pretty Petty but believe me I've expereinced it with people...We all figured out a great system and that's to share. We just went along found our goods and helped each other find things and if there where any extras of anything well we just split them down the middle and that way we both got some....It's made for a wonderful shopping experience together ...and If only others could find that happy medium it would make for some great experiences with their own friends ..you know it's not always about what you get but about the good time you have....Now all that being said ...

After about 3 hours of digging for our fun Finds friday morning we paid up and then it was the dreaded part ..Loading it all up ...

I condensed boxes so we could get it all in the truck ..while Abbs figured how it was going to go in and ..Sheila was waiting in the back of the truck for the hand off and to start getting everything stacked in place ..

A Girl always needs to look her best when Loading !!!

A few of the finds we got ...this totally cute pink and red chair ..and these old glass light caps ...

How about all these windows ...Sheila got a few and so did we ..and I'm sure we both have similiar ideas for them along with adding our own touch to them ...I'm sure you'll be seeing them in their new life at her shop or the September show ...

I love the cabinet another one of those times with full hands when I found it ..cabinet in one hand ..a wagon in the other and a box full under my arm ..looking for help so I could keep shopping .....what's a gal to do !!! LOL !! Luckily a nice young man came along and helped me out ...

Sheila got this whole stack of old sock stretchers a wire shoe rack..a cast iron stand ..and some old chicken feeders .... I love them all but am partial to the sock stretchers ..we were going to split them ..but I already have some here at home ..so there all Sheilas and I can't wait to see them displayed !!!

The Truck was only Half way full and it was looking a little sketchy that everything was going to fit ..Plus we were headed down to a place were I was picking up some old wood and I kept wondering it was going to happen ... I should really never wonder..Abbey is an amazing packer ..when you think there isn't any spare room left ..she finds it .....and thanks to her once again we got everything in right down to the wood later that day and a few other goods I might add ..

Oh Yes did I mention these yummy Antique doors ..they are too too wonderful !!! I'm a bit in love with them at the moment and imagining all sorts of ways to use them. Isn't it funny the castoffs of today that make some of us giddy !!! I have never had the chance to say it ..but if I did ...I'd say I'd take a chipped up tattered and "Crusty" old door ..table ..shelf ..you get the idea ..over a diamond ring ..I'm definitely not the glamorous type ..just down to earth and in love with my vintage finds !!!

By the time we were finished ..the tail gate wouldn't close only the door of the camper shell so Papa Fred strung the tie downs around them best as they could be put so the miles ahead of us would be safeguarded ..as we had quite a day still left ahead of us ..

After we loaded and we were filthy ..our hands black ..and our clothes caked in dirt ...Papa Fred decides us 3 girls should get a picture together ...

Abbey far right ... Sheila in the Middle and myself on the Left ...Oh gosh I'm rethinking the whole take pictures and pull my hair back thing ..

After this most flattering photo we all headed off to lunch ...of course Sheilas Favorite El Pollo Loco ...although I was in a cheeseburger mood and papa fred mexican so we got our food and took it to El Pollo so Sheila and Abbs could have some healthy chicken ..

Afterwards we headed out for some more fun ...to a favorite haunt of ours ...and back home ..only to have plans for Sunday to head out early to the Long Beach Flea Market.

Yesterday at the flea market We had a Great time ...Filled our Market Carts to the brim ...and I got Sun Burned like a lobster ..I burn easy ... Afterwards we had a great lunch at Lucilles BBQ ..Yummy !!!!

...and then on the way home we took Sheila to Country Roads antique mall where she had never gone ..I'm pretty sure she liked it ..LOL !!!

...another full day and I think we were all ready to get home and call it a day ...we all got lots of fun new finds and most of all just had a great time enjoying each others company !!! Now it's time for all of us to get to work ...cleaning ..pricing ..listing...and tagging all our new goods ...

On the way to get a coke and the rest of the weekend...

On The Way to Get A Coke ...

What a weekend ..with it being Memorial Day ...a "holiday weekend" for many ..I figured there wouldn't be too many estate sales if any at all ..and few yard sales out there . Well was I wrong !!!

Thursday and Friday were packed full of sales ..and really it was take the method of spinning the dial and seeing where it landed to choose what direction to go in as there were more Estate Sales than one could make it to ....We found a ton of goodies which I'll share pictures of further on in this post. In fact we found so many I had to make a couple trips home to unload the truck both days ..LOL !! ...So on Saturday ...

When it was 2 in the afternoon we all decided we wanted a what we call "Frozen Coke" ..you know those Coke Slurpees. We don't keep soda in the house ..so going down to get a frozen coke is a treat ..anyhow ..."On the way to get a coke" ...mind you after 2 days full of sales and buying ...we're headed down the road ..and how could it be ..How could I have missed it ..another massive sign ..that reads Estate Sale ..Well ..having no will power ...we had to check it out and see what was still available ..I shouldn't have ...but ...

This Antique Iron Baby Bed ..in a very faint original paint ..was set up ...I made an offer thinking it would not be taken and well as you can see I have it ..LOL !!! These early Iron Baby beds make such wonderful pieces for the Garden ..Or they are perfect set up as a oversized chair in the house ...by adding a cushion ..and pillows and dropping the front or taking it off .

Well it's mine now ..but guess where it's going to be heading ??? Countdown to the Chateau De Fleurs show has begun ....and that's where it will be headed ..

This wonderful wood folding chair in old blue chippy paint ..perfectly weathered and aged was another find at that sale ...along with several antique leather suitcases ..a cute drop leaf 1930's table ..an old shabby chandelier ..of all things a Christie Repasy painting...pluse some other odds and ends. ..We had to laugh pulling away ..saying and all we were doing is going to get a Coke ..!!!

Reverse to Thursday and Friday ...and we hit an estate sale near the ocean about 35 minutes from were we live and another one in the hills about 25 minutes from where we live ..and here's just a snippet of all our treasures ...

To some it may look like alot of junk ..but to me this is absolute treasure ..

You can't see this table that well ..didn't realize that the shade was so dark ..but it's a cutie and just waiting for a little rouge and lipstick...

This was one of my favorite boxes ...look at all these old wood shoe forms ..Are they not awesome ..the sale these came from the man had owned a shoe repair shop ... you should have seen all the interesting tools and pieces that were there. Plus those bronzed baby shoes hiding down in the box ..were just ever so sweet and will I couldn't pass those up ..

This Bucket full of old porcelain insulators is another cool find ..People always look at some of the stuff we buy and wonder "what in the world" I'm sure ..they just see the items for what they are ..but I always see it as what it can be or can become ...and I saw these gems as legs ..perfection with the screw in already in and they are super heavy duty ..so some trunk ..table or I don't know what yet will eventually be married up with these...

So While out playing in our goodies and putting things away and beginning work on pieces for our upcoming show ..we had some fun with My Maggie. We bought this little Strainer and we turned it over and said it looked like a little helmet ..and we found the perfect little head for it to fit upon ...

Poor Maggie ..I think I've pulled , yanked, tugged, and rubbed her soft little ears to death for the last 14 years ...She's such a patient girl ..and let's me do just about anything to her. We made her pose for this picture ..and I had to stand guard that the strainer/helmet didn't pop off ...her ears are so soft there's just no grip with them so they were having a hard time staying put throught the handles ..LOL !!! ..If only I would have had a sweater clip I could have hooked it from one ear to the other to secure the helmet ..no not really ..!!!

So that was our Fun weekend ..I'm tired ..tired of Going ..and ready for a few days here at home. We are steadily working on new pieces for the upcoming show ...I have a few before and maybe some after pictures of pieces that will be headed to the show that I will be posting this week ..so check back to see some sneek peeks !!!

And of course ..I haven't forgotten that today is Memorial Day ..and want to say Thank You To the Veterans of our country and to those in Service Today as well as to their families for the Sacrafice they have made for Me and My Families Freedom. May our Freedom be untouched and may all of us realize how precious that Freedom is to us ..and may we fight the fight along with our military to keep our nation Free !!! It is good to want peace ..it is good to desire peace ..it is good to pray for peace ..but the reality of peace is in order to achieve it ..every person in this nation would have to come to one mind of thinking. Being that we all are different and have different views ...Complete Peace will never be achieved ..but we can be peaceful in our views and come to one mind of thinking about our Freedom ..that we Love it and that No one including our own government is going to take that away. It is up to us the people to unite and remember what our Veterans did for us and what our men in sevice are doing for us today ..and Keep Our Freedom !!!

Thank You to the men and women who have given their lives ..to the men and women who have fought the good fight ..to the men and women who have sacraficed their lives and the lives of their families ..WE SALUTE YOU !!!

Estate Sales Galore, Magpie... and Spring Blooms ..

Hello chickadees ...boy what a week this has been ..Like a big roller coaster ride ..

In the midst of it all this week ..a girl just has to take some fun time and hit all the Sales she can. It's a great uplifter ..to go treasure tramping ...

In the last month there has just been gobs of estate Sales ..more than I can keep up with ,..and far more than my pocket book can handle ..it's pretty stretched right now ..but gosh when someone tells you a nickel a piece on a stack of vintage linens ..how do pass a deal like that up ...LOL !!! I didn't ..!!! I don't have any pictures of those to share with you ..because I forgot to take a pict before Abbey dumped them into the boil pot to clean them ..to get our vintage linens clean Abbey goes through a very long and daunting process ..to restore them ..so they can be treasured for many more years to come.

I did however get some picts of many of our other finds this week to share with you ....

This morning we headed to an estate sale in wine country ..It was fun because they had alot of new items ..several pieces we got had been purchased at home goods ..and were just perfection ...The Picnic book is just wonderful and has so many great ideas ..Abb and I thought it was perfect timing with spring right around the corner...you can't see it but it's sitting on this Lovely silver compote ...just a dream ..I can't wait to get it cleaned up ..and isn't that little beehive watering can adorable ...it won't be copper colored for very long ...It's getting a makeover this week ..

The two booklets above are ever so sweet ..we found these at a great estate sale that we went to yesterday ...Oh was it fun ..lots of fun little hardwware finds along with an antique trunk ..I've yet to pull from the truck as it's been raining here.

O.k. these Mirrored Pedestals with floral etching are just divine ...I snatched these up the minute I saw them ...they are just a bit dusty and need a good cleaning and that's it ..such a fun find !!!

O.k. I have to admit Abbey and I have a real thing for Jars ..She started collecting Canning jars years ago ..then apothecary ..and now we love these wide mouth candy style jars ..they are perfect for keeping collections of feathers, string, ribbon, buttons, cookie cutters, birds nests and so much more in ...

Isn't this pedestal mirror so sweet ..it's all stamped tin ...and wire ...Just a little dusting and this charmer will be ready to go.

This reproduction Toliet Water bottle is sweet ...Abbs found this and another one ...Tags from the store still on them ...I guess they never were used ...I think some lavender water would be sweet stored inside or just filled with lavender buds ...We shall see ...

This floral papered 4 drawer cupboard ...was an exciting find yesterday ...Of course ..We pull up to this yard sale ..Abb jumps out (I drive) and I tell her go ahead I can see there is nothing there ...When she starts pointing at it ...Well I ever learn my lesson that you have to get out of the truck ..not just drive by and think you can see it all ..Well nonetheless we brought this sweet gem home and the drawers were loaded with old sewing notions ..just what we need more of ...LOL !!!

This sweet vintage pillow set is quite adorable ..You don't see such sweet pieces like these that have survived the years around too much anymore ...I can see them in a lovely pink room.

Frames ...I'm always a sucker for frames ...These will be getting a makeover too ..Time I need more time ....I have more makeover projects than time anymore ...

Oh yes and this morning we hit a garage sale ...found these sweet jewelry pieces ..I love the black and white brooch and earrings set ...they are my favorite ..

Some fun odd finds ...that will make there way into one of our projects one day down the road ...However the bottom 2 metal pieces ..I already have an idea for those ...I'm thinking spring and birds nests ...

I'm telling you there were truly more sales than one person could get too or have enough money to buy ...Look at this cute all metal cupboard ...it has great bones and is severely in need of a makeover ...which will be happening this week ...there was no way I was passing this sweetie up ...along with an antique white dresser and nightstand ..that are not pictured ..

Anyone for Architectural statuary ....Me Me me me me me me me !!!!! This piece is just perfect ..chipped ...tattered and shabby ...This piece will be headed to the show we are doing in March .... along with several other finds pictured above ...

Well I hope you enjoyed our treasure tramping adventure this week ..I know we did ...and I hate to say it ...but I'm already thinking about next week ...LOL ..isn't that how it is ..we are addicted to the hunt ..of finding the next gem ..of traveling the highways and byways ...and the love of reclaiming old treasures for new ....

Well earlier in the week ..I believe it was on Wednesday ..I was getting ready to leave to go with my Parents to the hospital for Dad's tests ..and I always make sure the dogs have had some outside time ..before locking them in while we are gone. ... I guess while I was getting ready Abbey had burnt some toast and stuck it outside on a table to get the burnt smell out of the house ...And Eagle Eye Magpie ....knew right where she laid it ...

I was out in the yard ...when Maggie disappeared then re-appeared within seconds ..casually laid down in the grass ...and started chewing on something ...When I hear she took the toast ...Sure enough ..the temptation of the burnt toast had overcome her ..and how she got it I don't know ..but she made her way far enough on to that table and swiped the toast ..Literally it was so burnt to a crisp ...she had to chew on it ..so I got a few snapshots of my little burnt toast thief.

Here you can see she has quite the mouthful ...

And here she is trying to chew off another morsel ..Maggie would convice anyone she possible can that she never gets fed and that she's starving ..this Dog loves food ..and we truly have to be careful ..as she will literally eat anything she can get her sweet little lips on ...

That Same morning before we left ...I noticed this New bloom on a rose bush we have near our arbor ...the colors were so vibrant and breathtaking ..I just had to get a close-up shot to share ...Isn't it gorgeous !!!

Well That ends my fun post for today ..I'm sure there will be more ahead ..In fact with all the rain we are getting and then warm sunshiny days in between the poppys are starting to bloom ..I imagine in the next few weeks the hills will be covered in them and look like they are on fire ..I promised some friends on the east coast I will get some pictures of them ..and I will share them with you all too !!!

This Weeks Estate Sale Finds ...

Remember my Lucky Penny earlier this week ????

I think it's a long lasting one ...LOL !!!

Today we had several estate sales lined up to hit ...the first one I found a few things ...but the second one ...I just about fell over when I walked in one of the bedrooms after the sale had been open for 30 minutes and found all this wonderful lace and linens ...to my amazement.

I couldn't believe no one had touched it ...then I remembered my Lucky Penny earlier this week ...and figured God's Blessing was still pouring out on me ..I must admit it feels rather good ..because I have my days like I'm sure many of you when I feel rather unworthy of God's blessings.

So here's some picts of my Blessings..

The long piece to the right is a slip ..and Oh is it cute ...if I were only the size I "USED" to be ..I'd be wearing it proudly ..But since i'm not ..well it's going to become somthing else ...LOL !!! and are those lace butterfly appliques just not the sweetest ..I can't wait till Abbs or I figure out what to add those too !!!

The Lace hankies are just Gorgeous ..those I will leave as they are and will get them washed and pictures taken and make them available for purchase...they are far to pretty to cut up !!!

This set of 4 flower frogs ..I feel in love with ..with spring just around the corner they are coming into season once again ..and of all things they are in 4 descending sizes from Small to large ..so when they are stacked they are so wonderful ...I love using the old frogs to hold old ephemera and photos ...Don't they look so perfect this way ...!!! I found these at the first sale we hit this morning ...so much fun !!! These I will be listing in our Etsy store this evening.

This needlepoint stool I just love ..I missed out on another one some other lucky gal got it ..but I look at it this way we both got to go home with a lovely treat.

This is the top ...it's in a chocolate brown with a pink, blue and light heather flower and leaves ...just scrumptious ..!!!

Lastly ...I picked up this set of old pyrex refrigerator dishes ...This pattern is "Amish Butterprint" . I don't know about all of you ..but glass is the best way to keep left overs ..hands down over plastic. I do admit we use tupperware here at the farm ..as sometimes it's what works ..but we do keep the plastic to a minimum and try to stick with glass ..it not only is healthier but it sure keeps the food well and the bonus is when you open your frig door ..there's style inside ..!!!

I'm headed over to Etsy just as soon a I finish here and will be listing ..The Frogs, The needlepoint Stool and the Pyrex Refirgerator Dishes.

Well I picked up several other goodies today ...a whole bunch of antique garden tools ..which I hope to get picts of tomorrow ...and get them listed on our website ...Plus I will be listing several new offerings on our site in the next few days ...Pieces I picked up on Monday when we went antiquing ...

And can you believe it ...there's another Estate Sale starting tomorrow morning ..will I be there ??? You can count on it ...I have Estate Sale addiction ...and my Truck knows just where to turn ...LOL !!!
