Well Hey There You all ..
Yep it's been quiet here on the blog .. pinterest and our twitter account for a while now and there's a good reason why...
About a week ago ... we came home to a sweet little note on our front door ..
The owners of the home we rent have decided to sell it after 7 years of us being here. And we literally have 60 days to vacate...
It's funny when we first moved into this house it was supposed to be for 1 yr ... to give us time after coming back from out of state to find a home to buy. Well after being here for just 3 weeks my Dad ended up having a triple bi-pass and then the story just lingers there after with his health issues to present day.( for those of you that don't know my parents and I share a home together) I think we went 1 year out of the 7 where all was good with his health and we were just deciding to make the leap and find a home 2 years ago when his health took a turn for the worst again ...So 7 years in a home we only planned to stay 1 year in ... and here we are with literally 60 days to figure out where we are going .. can we buy something we love in that time and get moved ..
I'll be the first to admit I'm overwhelmed and even though I know God's in control and all will come out right it always has ... well that fear of the unknown is still creeping in to my mind .. the stress of looking around and seeing all that needs to be sold, packed and moved has been a constant battle the last week .. I'm praying .. I'm giving it to the Lord and taking it back and giving it back and taking it back ... LOL ! ...
Anyhow we have a big move ahead of us .. the days ahead are going to be full .. while we continue to keep the business up and running as long as we are able and we prepare to move ..
The part that excites us is to finally be buying a home again, getting into a place that is ours where we can actually paint and decorate it and make it a home of our own which we haven't been able to do in this home. It's been 7 long years of Navajo white walls .. and tile floors we detest . So in the new house "No Tile Floors" Please ... LOL ! ..
The biggest question is where ? We have considered moving out of state back to MO ..which is a place we have lived before .. but the question is, is that the right place for us or is staying here in CA the right choice .. so please pray that we will receive direction and we will make wise choices .....
I'll keep you all updated on where we end up ..
In the Meantime you all take care !
Best of luck to you.
ReplyDeleteThank You Christina !
DeleteWork as if it depends on you and pray because it depends on God. I will pray for direction and discernment for you. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI echo Regena!
DeleteAh Regena ... That's been something I learned long ago .. we always have said in our home "Work while you wait " ... We are working and Praying hard for that direction .. Thanks so much for your prayers !

It's a bit strange that they left you a note. Did they offer the chance for you to buy the house. If you were in Ohio, I have a house to sell you, hah. Good luck. I hope for the best for all of you. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Debby .. well I called it a note ... but I guess you could say they were official papers from the rental agency we don't have direct contact with the owners .. .. I suppose we could buy the house when they put it up for sale but I imagine they are planning to do quite a bit of work to it to bring it up to a saleable property. ..but it's not a house we would choose to purchase unless we had no other choice .. Thanks for stopping in and for the Luck !

DeleteSara,
ReplyDeleteWishing you an easy move and hoping you will find the right home. California is a beautiful state but I know expensive to live. Hope where ever you decided to move it will be good for all of you. God will see you through this part of your journey.
Kris
Thanks Kris .. Yes CA is beautiful in places ... but "Very" Expensive " and that's the key right now to staying prices are way up ..and nearly unreachable for us .. so we are leaning to out of state.. one of the things that tends to sway us to staying is of course my Dad's Dr.s .. but we know the Lord can provide him just as good Dr.s somewhere else. Thanks so much for the encouragement !

Oregon is a nice place!! Good luck on finding what you want, either renting
ReplyDeletea while or buying. I had to do it in 30 days when hubby got transferred
from CA. to Oregon AND also sell our home. He is deceased now but I
remember the stress.
Oh my and I thought 60 days was short .. sounds like you've got us beat ... I know all things are possible with God .. so I'm holding onto that .. I'm so sorry to hear your husband has since passed on. Thanks for stopping in and sharing !

I am so sorry you have to go through all this. Maybe it will turn out for the best in the long run. But in the mean time take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ann.. it's a lot to do ..but on the other hand I always try to remember that there are so many other people in the world going through things much harder ..so if they can endure then so can I ... I believe this will be for the best ... and all will work out beautifully ..sometimes it's hard to see the beauty when you are in the middle of what feels like a mess .. but I know it's waiting on the other side of this ...
DeleteHave a Blessed week

Well hello Sara, I was wondering about you and your family, since I have not seen any pins on Pinterest. Now I know! Oh my I know what it's like to move! Believe me, I have done it enough in my lifetime. And sometimes it can happen swiftly too! My wagon train sometimes had to be lighten to make the move! I am sure you can get that kind of picture too, as I have lots of collections of my good old vintage stuff. I am sure y'all do too and things you will want to keep and other things to maybe get rid of. My dad was raised in MO before coming to Texas around 1915 he was 17 at that time. He lived in Ray Country, MO I'm not sure of the town. But I know it must have been in country. Because of how he told me stories of his young life of lots of snow and walking miles to school. I saw where you said MO was where y'all move to CA from. My last move was a little over 20 miles it seems like we never get all I had moved. LOL...I am blessed to have in my old age a new 4 bedroom home. But I own the home I was living in before. My husband had passed away and I was able to live in peace for 8 yrs, in my lovely country home. And too all my children loved it and I did too! But one night someone evil decided they wanted to break into my home. Believe me they did not get in I because I let them a had a shot gun waiting on them. Well, still God was good to me and I was able to get help from the lawman that arrived swiftly.
ReplyDeleteI telling you this to tell you it changed me living way out in the country alone. And my children and I decided it was time to move again. My son-in-law and daughter gave me a beautiful spot to place my home on their land. And now I can see their home :) and what a blessing that is at my great-granny age. Anyway that was over 4 yrs ago now. But I remember so well the move and packing everything up that I loved. I now have this on my walls "For we walk by faith and not by sight" and another "Be still and know that I am God" and then another that I read, as I sit in my chair to drink my morning coffee "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you" I too will be praying for y'all to find the perfect home for you and your mom and dad!
Love with lots of hugs, Judy
You all have been on my mind for quite sometime now, Sara. I hope things are working in your favor. Can't wait to hear what you decided. Hugs and prayers. xo
ReplyDeleteI've been hit and miss in blogland for the past 2 years and just now coming back. Sorry to hear about the quick move you had to make. I was born and raised in SW Missouri, it's a beautiful place and I always find myself wishing I was back home. I'm sure it is much cheaper than CA! I hope you've been able to make that move. Or if not to MO, somewhere that you all are happy. I hope things are well for you all. Miss you!
