Junkin with our New Junk Sista !!!

Yesterday we had a blast ....and spent the day with Sheila of Tattered Goods our new Junk Sista ..!!!

In June at the Chateau De Fleurs Show ..she crowned Abbs and I her New BFF's ...Now We're crowning her our New Junk Sista !!!

Abbs and I through the grapevine found out about this awesome Junk sale that was happening ..an old thrift store that had been closed for 20yrs and never opened was being opened to have a huge estate sale and everything had to go ...

So Us three girls and Papa Fred headed their yesterday morning ..It was an early morning we were up here about 4 a.m. and we all hit the road by 5:30 for our destination which opened at 7:00.

We made it ..got in line ..and at 7 ..were swept through the doors with total anticipation of what we were going to find. Tons of Tables loaded with boxes on top, underneath ,,,and shelves laden with old thrift store merchandise.

We got absolutely filthy ..20 years of dirt and grime covered every inch of the place needless to say every item too !

Papa Fred's a Gem and he's our runner...While us girls fill our boxes and bags with treasure he takes them for us and hands off another empty for us to keep going and then stands guard to make sure no unkind snatching of our gems from unkind strangers happens...

Needless to say he kept us stocked with empty boxes and kept our piles in order...

3 Hours after we arrived ...we paid for our Treasure ...and carried it out ..

Here's Sheila and I ...Abbs opted out of the photo and took it...

We Got "ALOT" ...our boxes and bags are loaded ....

Sheila Got this cool Sink ....What a cleaning job it needs ...just when you think cleaning the bathroom can't get any worse ..you get a sink that looks like this ..LOL !!

Sheila got this cool Hospital folding frame...this is an oldie and solid ..boy is it heavy !!

So this end of the pile is mine ...

A cute industrial style table on casters ..a great wood tote...and tons of other great vintage finds including vintage hardware and lighting some vintage aprons and more ..!!!

*********************************

So it was time to start loading ....and I have to say ..Thank the Good Lord for the man who invented Pick-up Trucks ...Because between all of us ..we filled it
****************************************

We spent the remainder of the day having some more fun ..first stop an early Lunch at El Pollo Loco ...

Flame Broiled Chicken ..Salad ...a side ..and a cup of soda ..to keep us going ...
********************************

We hit some of the local antique shops on our way home ...added a few more things to the back of the truck ...and had an ...

Awesome ...

End ..
To our Day ....LoL !!

Our Truck was packed ..and we headed home ..then followed Sheila to her house ...to unload her part ..just the back half of the truck ..

I unloaded it from inside the truck ..while ...

They hauled it to the Garage ....that is they being Sheila and Papa Fred ..Miss Abbs was a bit out of commission ..she stepped on glass early in the week ended up in ER and came home with 5 stitches ..so right now no heavy lifting ..as she is on the mend.

Now it's back to work for all of us ..time to start cleaning up our yummy goodies and get them ready to sell...For Abbs and I our next show in September ..and Sheila of course has her Shop ..Tattered Goods in Fallbrook, CA ...and also will be at the same show in september ..the Chateau De Fleurs ..

If you can't wait to start shopping ..then hop on down to Sheila's shop or even over to her "Tattered Goods" BLOG..you'll Love it ...!!!

Until our next Junk Sista Adventure ..

Wishing you all Good Finds and Happy Adventures !!!

Blessings ..Sara

A view of our little tiny itty bitty piece of a Garden ..

A view of our teenie tiny garden.....

I think it's the tiniest yard we have ever had ...no let me re-phrase that "it is the tiniest yard" we have ever had.

But it's sweet ..that is when my piles of stuff aren't back there to mess it all up.

Last week ..as we were standing in the kitchen ...this old door was leaned just perfectly in front of the kitchen window ....It framed the view of our garden and the lake that is behind us ..ever so sweetly !

I can't remember a time that we haven't loved birds ..this wonderful Martingale house as they are called in the midwest ...we attatched to an antique turned wood house post and it stands high peeking through our little pine tree. We brought this Martingale house back from MO ..from many years back when we lived there ..it's a little piece of our home and memories there that we won't ever part with ..the Sentimental Value is just too great !

Along the way ..we found this cute Umbrella Bird feeder at a sale ...and it hangs beautifully from the shepeards hook ...the birds lite there throughout the day and peck at the seed and fill there little bellies with God's sweet Manna ...

Another reminder of our Days of living in MO is the Beautiful Metal Garden Arbor ...Yes we bought it there ..In Riverview Antique Mall ...and carried it all the way back to CA ..it's only gotten better with age and it's another piece I'm afraid will stay with us for a very long time ...inside it is our charming old bird bath ...and oh how the birdies love it ..they bathe in the afternoon ..flitting and twisting and wriggling about ..getting all their feathers dusted in water droplets ...and then fly away so refreshed ...It's always fun to see 5 or 10 of them bathing together ...It puts a smile on our face everytime ..

This fun piece the "tower" as it is referred to around here ..I recently purchased at a sale ...it wasn't in the best shape ..and Papa Fred ..diligently worked to restore it and gave it a fresh new coat of white paint and it is so so beautiful now. I had plans for it ..but he loves putting his geranium on top ...so for now it's his ..Since this picture he's added 2 shelves and put 2 more plants inside it ..which looks so lovely ...

I didn't realize when we took pictures that so many of our favorite pieces in the Garden are from our days of living in MO ..how ironic that so many are ..

This Stained glass window was a dear little find ...one we got on a trip we took north one day to Kansas City ...
When we lived in Mo ...making a Kansas City Trip for Antiquing was actually a frequent trip for us. having grown up in CA ..we are so used to commuting ..that 3 hours north was like a bad day in traffic going to L.A. ... so the open road ...no Traffic ..and all that Beauty was just a hop skip and jump away to us.

Meet Shelly ...He's our oversized Turtle ...that really is such a Great Pet ..Our Pet Hose Holder .

Yes Shelly made his way home with us about 4 years ago .. a trip to Target and we found him all lonely in the garden center and no less they had put him on clearance ..well here we are 4 years later and still attatched to him.

These sweet little daisies grace the arm of our adirondack chair ...and were smiling beautiful ...as to say ..won't you take a picture of me today !!!

Lastly ...The Roses ...have been blooming out beautifully this year ..Overall we have had a milder summer than usual ..and I think the Roses are smiling more this year. Their branches have been loaded with Beautiful Fragrant Blooms ..it's been a delight to see the yard lit up with so many this year ...
Our David Austen Rose ..that I have forgotten the name of ..It's a gorgeous Pink Cottage Rose ..and although this variety is not fragrant ..the blooms it gets are outstanding. I love the way the petal feel when I run my fingers over them ..or when you touch an open bloom to your cheek ..it's like a velvet that cannot be reproduced by any other way than Nature itself.

I think God did an amazing job creating Nature ..I stand in Awe !

Well thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at our itty bitty garden ..Oh there's plenty more to share that we have tucked in here and there ..but I'll save that for another post to share with you down the road.

Have a Lovely week ..and I'll be back real soon ..to chat with you all ..

Blessings ..Sara

The Urban Barn Artisans and Vendors ....

As Promised .....more picts from this last weekends show at the Urban Barn ...

Well I think I am somewhat re-cooperated from the scorching heat we endured this last weekend ,..Sunday I awoke debating on going to an outdoor fleamarket and when I stepped outside and felt the heat ..my body screamed "NO" more heat ...So I opted for a cool day in the AC ...watching t.v. and sharing my first post of pictures from the show ...

Our weather is finally cooling down "Slightly" ...which is good ..I think we all needed a bit of a reprieve.

I am posting a variety of pictures from artisans and vendors that were at the show ..some I know ..and others I don't so I'll do my best to give credit to the ones I do ..the others simply enjoy !!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First up is Lisa Loria of "Vintage Bling" ...Lisa is a stunning jewelry artist ....and her artistic abilities don't stop there ...I loved this padded heart display !!!
Lisa's talent for display ranks up there as top notch in my book ...and her Bling Babies as she calls them are an absolute hit with customers ...These Jewelry displays are true works of whimsical Art ...I must worn you though she has some that are not for sale and I don't blame her ..But she always has a generous amount of them for purchase ...to get yours visit her blog "VINTAGE BLING" ...or come to the next marketplace she will be selling at to get yours ...the Chateau De Fleurs ..in fallbrook, CA ...(read more about it in my sidebar)
Rita Read of "Mammabellarte" ...this Sassy and Sweet Sicilian ...has just the right touch ...from her soldered jewerly .....and Handmade Signs ...
To her famous Dressed to the Nines' Mannequin "BELLA" ...that you'll find displayed beautifully at each of the marketplaces she sells at. Rita is a wonderful Artist ...and it's always a joy to see her new creations and displays ...Be sure to visit Rita's blog ..."MAMMABELLARTE" .....Rita hosts the Chateau De Fleurs show and also offers her goods there ..so be sure if your local to mark your calenders for the September show.
My new sweet .....did I say "SWEET" friend Ebony of "MAHOGANY MADDISON" She's a Vintage Fashion Diva ...she puts outfits together to perfection...and has a wide variety of offerings that are to die for !!! ...
Yep that's Ebony ...surrounded by all her beautiful soft Toned vintage fashions ...and I understand she's expanded and is now offering Wedding Fashions as well ...
Above is Robin of "VINTAGE BEACH HOUSE" ...this was the first time I have met Robin and it was such a pleasure to meet her ...not to mention her shop is just stunning ..I lover her palette of colors she uses and chooses ..and her offerings were ever so charming ....
For my few pictures that don't have names ..I apologize ...I do my very best to give credit to everyone and sometimes I forget to make sure and get everyone's name and card ...If your picture is here and you would like me to add your name and the name of your blog ..just leave a comment with your info. and I would be more than glad to add it.
As for all you bloggers out there in blog land ..I hope you have enjoyed a few shots of the Artisans and antique vendors from the Urban Barn Show.
We now have about 8 weeks to prepare for our next show ...I have so many ideas in my head for creating new offerings that I think my brain is going to pop. I'm wondering is 8 weeks enough ??? Well I'll do my best as always ..and that' will have to do.
A "HOT" weekend at the Urban Barn
Hello blogger Gals ...We're Back and boy are we Tired !!!
Our week has been a long one ..this Last monday and tuesday we began packing and preparing to setup our shop at the outdoor marketplace for the Urban Barn's Grand Opening.
Tuesday Night we loaded our Trailer and Wednesday Morning we headed out to set up our shop.
Friday Morning the Marketplace began at 8:00 a.m. and we were welcomed early that morning as we headed out the door by some very Extreme Heat and Humidity. Having lived in the Midwest I can attest ..that Friday was like a true Dog Day of summer in the Midwest. We reached well over 100 degrees and I'm not sure what the humidity level was but I'm guessing well over 80% ...we were all drenched through ..carrying towels to wipe our faces ..I filled mine with ice to hold at my neck to try and keep as cool as possible ..and I drank water like it was literally going out of style. I think I downed well over 10 bottles that day ..
We all got through it with a great attitude ...and mustered up the strength to get back out there again on Saturday to enjoy all of our customers who come to support us.
Saturday wasn't as bad ..but not by much ..But the good thing is we had a nice turnout of people and everyone seemed in good spirits despite the weather.
Well as I always promise ..I took lots of pictures to share with you all. This Post I'll share picts of our shop ..and throughout the week I have more pictures of some of my friends shops ..and I get to share with you a few of my new friends I met at this show....
So here we go !!!
My Theme this show was shades of Aqua and Blue mixed with shades of whites and our signature lace and burlap. We were inspired by some new curtains we purchased recently at an estate sale to display around the shop...panels of Aqual Floral print on a creamy white background....from there we couldn't help but pull in accents of blues and aquas throughout the shop . So far this has been our favorite setup to date.
Above the table ..Abbey came up with creating a triple wire lamp frame chandelier ..decked out in antique lace and hung from a rustic strip of burlap ...The table below was trimmed in fish net topped off with vintage silver ...
The silver cake plate with Beautiful Glass top found a new home on Saturday .... The Glass cupboard and teacups went home with the sweetest gal on Friday ..she was so excited to get both pieces and I must admit I was excited for her ..she made 2 superb choices !!!
This was the first marketplace that I have offered my new jewelry line at ...I took this sweet birdcage to display it on ...I like how it turned out ... By the way I'll be offering my jewelry in the next week in my Etsy shop ..I'll keep you all posted.
Friday I was so excited ..Abbey was out shopping while I was working our shop .,..and she spied this awesome antique mannequin ..I can't tell you how thrilled I was when she came to get me.. I had actually just prayed and asked the Lord for one of these ..( I know that may sound funny to some ..but it does say in the Bible to ask him for the desires of your heart so I did) I so badly had wanted one in this style to begin displaying our aprons and my jewelry on ...and it didn't take but just a few minutes and I had it in our shop and dressed.
I only had a few aprons available this show ..with all the issues with my feet prior to the show I just couldn't get up to make more ..But they were loved by many ...even Deb Kennedy from Retreat ..purchased one and wore it Saturday ...in Fact she purchased my Farmhouse Party Apron that I feature in my last post for the Rosette party !!! Oh my gosh she looked absolutely charming in it ..it fit her to perfection !!!
Our stack of Burlap covered Farmhouse Suitcases found a new home this weekend .,.I can't wait to get started on a new set ....for our next show in September ...
O.k. on Friday ..this Gal ..sorry I forgot to get her name ..bought this fabulous Lace overdress I had offered ..and she came back Saturday to show me how it looked and I asked her if I could take a picture of her to share on our blog. I loved the lace over dress and just knew it was going to find the right gal to wear it ...and I must say she wears it to perfection doesn't she just look Lovely !!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That brings me to the end ....it was a great weekend ..despite the heat it was successful for Abbey and I ..and we had a great time chatting with our Good Friends and our Lovely customers. We loved seeing repeat faces from our prior shows ...

Our Check out table was buzzing both days ....and now Abbey and I are checking out for the next month and a half. We didn't schedule any shows for the month of August ..we need to re-coop and work on new product for our upcoming shows ...the Chateau De Fleurs in Fallbrook, CA and for the first time we are announcing that we have been chosed as an artisan for Glitterfest in Santa Ana, CA in October. I was so excited to get the e-mail saying we were to be part of the show ..and I have lots of work to do over the next 6 to 8 weeks getting prepared for both shows ...

As always I'll keep you all posted on both shows ..and Hope to see many of you locals at both of them.

Well it's time for me to kick my feet up ...lay back in my chair and relax today ...as I'll be up bright and early tomorrow and back to work...

Hope you all had a Great weekend ...Sending you all Hugs and Blessings ...Sara
