Faith Makes things possible not easy ...

So So True ... I know several people going through some rough times right now .. and their Faith in God is what makes each day possible to get through even though the struggles they face feel overwhelming .. Being a Christian doesn't mean life will be a cake walk.. our God is bigger than that he uses the ups and downs in our lives to mold us and teach us if only we will seek to have a heart like his . If you're riding that rough road of life today .. remember

Joshua 1:9 "Be Strong and courageous ! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" ...

Have a beautiful and blessed Sunday Y'all ..

Here we grow again ~ Our New shop space at Camp Flea Antique Mall

A few months back Abbey and I talked about opening a 2nd shop space my storage was overflowing and screaming for a new shop space. .. we went to several local antique malls to see where a good spot we liked would be available. I found several cute places I liked but I kept thinking of all the extra work it was going to be hauling things to 2 different locations. While working at my shop space at Camp Flea Antique Mall the manager was measuring up the space directly across from mine and I inquired why it was being measured and it was because the people in it had given notice to move out and it was coming available ..Well that pretty much changed things for me... I could just expand my existing space right across the aisle and it would make it much simpler for this busy gal in the long run to have all her eggs in one basket so to speak. With Online Sales, Sewing, Painting , Making, and being on the road to gather up vintage goodness it really leaves very little time.. so the down side of taking a space somewhere else was the amount of extra work it would be always going in another direction and all the hauling in 2 different directions so this couldn't have come at a better time.

We decided on a Farmhouse Camp and Cabin Style for our new shop since I had collected so much of it the past year ...

We worked for the last 2 weeks getting the space ready ...

Well We finally finished our new shop space yesterday and it's open for shopping. We said Rustic Farmhouse Camp and Cabin .. and well here's our version of it.  We added the wood roof ... painted the walls a beautiful clean creamy white added rustic crown moulding and We love how it turned out.

Our newest addition to our shop are the Amazing "Antique Candle Works " Candles. We have 8 and 16 oz Canning Jar Candles in 6 amazing scents ~ Autumn Leaves ~ Clean Cotton ~ Mommas Kitchen ~ Sweet Lemon ~ Southern Hospitality ~ and Apple Pickin' ~ .. it's hard to pick a favorite I love them all .. And we are thrilled to be the exclusive retailer in our region for Antique Candle Works.

We'll be adding our OOAK Fall Pillows by Thursday and still have a couple last minute touches to add .. We hope you all enjoy .. and our shop space across the aisle will be getting a facelift in the next few weeks so stay tuned for some more vintage fun .. Sweet Blessings .. Sara

For those of you who might be local or passing through ..

Good Movies are hard to find ~ "The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society"

I don't know about you all but finding good movies can be hard in this day and age. Especially family friendly movies.

I tend to be drawn to the British shows like Pride and Prejudice ( I prefer the older version with Colin Firth) ..  Persuasion and Cranford etc. I did watch the series Downton Abbey ... I was so drawn to all the eras of clothing and life throughout the era's that were depicted. Several of the Cast Members that were in Downton Abbey also were part of a movie recently called "The Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society". I had read about a year ago it was coming out but forgot until someone on FB recently posted it.

It actually turned out to be a good movie in my opinion.

What's it about you ask ?

In 1946 a London-based writer begins exchanging letters with residents on the island of Guernsey, which was German-occupied during WWII. Feeling compelled to visit the island, she starts to get a picture of what it was like during the occupation.
And
You'll find out about that literary and potato peel pie society when you watch it.

I enjoyed the story line and as always the acting was really superb .. I personally think the British actors are the best. But I know some would probably want to debate me on that point .. as I said it's a personal opinion.

If you're concerned about content .. Overall 1 or 2 cuss words ( A**)  And one scene with an intoxicated man. two short lived fight scenes.  Nothing sexual in nature at all.

Hope you all find it as delightful and enjoyable as I did ..

The Feather ~ Unexpected answers to Prayer

Good Thursday Morning to you all .. well once again there's been a long dry spell between posts here on my blog .. The truth is sometimes I just don't have a lot to share .. I was urged recently by a friend to consider picking my blogging back up again and I told her the same thing I just don't have a lot to say lately .. but I took to heart her words and prayed about it . Well this was the first thing that touched my heart to share .. a simple yet personal story of what prayer can do.

~ The Feather ~

Sometimes God answers our prayers in unexpected ways. I say unexpected ways because his answers can certainly be indirect and far from the answers we were seeking or hoping to find. God's ways are special and unique to each of us. He knows how to speak to our hearts on a personal basis and to answer in ways that may be unique to each of us.
Many years back our family was going through a rough patch. Our hearts were heavy and burdened and I think we began to wonder if our dear Lord had abandoned us. Because ... no answers seemed to come. The days drug on and the more I cried out to him no answers came.
Many of you that have followed my blog or know me personally, know my Mom and I are very close. We have had an especially close mother/daughter bond/friendship for as many years as I can remember. We are truly the best of friends. That being said during this rough patch she and I would go for walks in the evening. We shared and discussed our emotions, fears, and uncertainties on these walks. Along the walk we came to a street that was fairly abandoned .. there was a concrete wall we sat on under a tree and this is where we stopped along the way and prayed each day asking God's help and guidance.
I can't tell you how many days we walked that same road and prayed under that tree ..but I know it was a long time we stopped and sought God's help and answers for our lives. Unbeknownst to me Mom prayed a separate prayer on her own to herself one day asking crying out to God "are you still there ?" .. if you could just give me an answer to let me know you're still there .. if you could just send me a feather dear Lord I'll know you're still there and I can keep going."
So one day we left on our daily walk as usual once again talking over the day, work, etc .. and just as we got to the concrete wall and the tree mom looked down and took in a deep breath and tears rolled down her cheeks .. as she bent over to pick up the feather that layed on the sidewalk just in front of her feet. She turned to me and said "Sara, he's still here he hasn't left us I'll be o.k. now." ... She then began to explain about the prayer and the feather and what it meant. We both hugged and then prayed and thanked God for the feather.
No, he didn't answer the prayer to our rough patch at that moment in time it was a while on past the prayer and the feather .. but he answered in the most unexpected way a person might imagine .. he sent a feather .. to the spot we prayed to let a heart in agony know he hadn't abandoned her or me or our situation.
God doesn't always pluck us from painful situations or struggles that life throws at us. As I have always said life is a journey through the seasons of life always changing. From peaceful and joyful times to pain, struggle and heart ache. All of these seasons have ways of shaping and molding our hearts if we allow them to after God's own heart. Compassion, kindness, Love, Understanding, are just a few words I can think of that God wants to imprint upon our hearts if only we will let him.
It's a life of constant learning of constant changing and seeking him in all we do and messing up and starting all over again. forgetting lessons learned and learning them again.. another cycle of life if you will.
So Look for the unexpected answers to prayer that God sends. Sometimes he answers indirectly and in ways that our personal to each of us. To this day when Either of us are feeling down or uncertain about life .. Feathers show up in the oddest of places without us even asking him to send them .. And whenever I happen on a feather my first thought is "God's here he's got this."

If you're going through a rough patch and you're feeling the same way "is God still there ?" ... Yes he is ..sometimes he just wants us to be still and wait on him .. going about our daily routine, moving forward and seeking him until His answers come. Keep praying, Keep Seeking, don't give up .. This season shall pass.
Jeremiah 29:12-13
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;

Galatians 6:9  And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him

Romans 12:2  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Sweet Liberty ~ time to Celebrate the red, white and blue ...

Well it was a beautiful rainy day here in the Missouri Ozarks .. so much needed rain at that .. it's been unusually hot early in the season and it's caused it to dry out a bit more than we would like.. so we were thrilled to see the rain fall today and see on the radar more in store for tomorrow .. all our wonderful farms in the area I'm sure are thankful to have some water fill their ponds for all their livestock.

It's been a busy few months here at the farmhouse from keeping our shop space up, keeping our etsy shop full.. and creating handmade pieces not to mention just the every day living one has to do.

I feel blessed to have such a full life. Every day I wake up I know I have things to do and/or places to go and people to see and things to accomplish. I'm not sure what I would do if I had to sit down to very long ..

So are Y'all  ready for the Fourth of July ?

It's just around the corner and if you haven't already got your red, white and blue decor up then it's time to get in gear and get some patriotic decorations up and let Old Glory Wave  ..

We've been working on a fun "Patriotic Sweet Magnolias Farm Original" custom order for a client of ours.. who requested a vintage style half round flag bunting. We were thrilled to take on the challenge and give it a whirl .. and we're even more thrilled with the end results.

We ended up designing and making 2 Large Flag buntings one for our client and another to list in our Etsy shop.. which has sold..
These large buntings end up being approx 61 inches wide x 32 inches long .. so a wonderful statement piece for an entryway, wall of a porch, or inside across the mantle or on a wall above a couch .. just about anywhere you fancy...

The buntings were such a joy to make that we've decided to do a few more this weekend and will have them available the first of the new week ( hoping for Monday) ..since these two found new home sweet homes ...

Here's a few close ups for you all to enjoy ..

Hip Hip Hooray for the Red, White and Blue !

Until next time ..
