Good News For Flossie today ...

A "Little" Good News for my Flossie Girl. Since I asked for prayers for Flossie .. I wanted to make sure and keep you all up to date.. not just when things are tough but when we get the good news too.
Today we went in to have her PCV checked (blood percentage) and for the first time her percentage was up 2 points .. that's actually huge .. it means she is making blood for the first time even if it's super slowly. She made that in 3 days ..!

Also her reticulocytes ( baby red blood cells) are now at 90,000 .. not even near enough to what they need to be but so far away from where they were a week ago .. so we are taking all the little miracles we can get today.

She's looking better and starting to act more normal again .. which is so good.
She still has quite a ways to go .. but the fact she's alive considering it was a 50/50 chance is really amazing.

Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to keep her in your prayers .. we have a ways to go .. and I hate to say it or think it but we are not out of the woods yet .. as they can relapse ..
Hugs and Blessings to you all !!!

Can't wait till she's looking as good as this photo that I took of her back in March...

  2. Our one dog is going through this auto immune disorder as well. It's been a few months and he is pretty much back to himself down to 1/4 steriod every other day. His counts have been up. We watch hm close as they can relasp but knowing he is covered in prayer helps. Just letting you know because we were so scared as well. Sending up prayers for you, Flossie, Dad and mom. One day at a time. Warm Blessinfs!~♥Amy.

    1. Oh my Amy .. so glad to hear your dog got through AIHA.. and is on such small amounts of Steroid .. that's just fabulous. I hope Flossie gets through this as quickly and with no relapse. The Prayers do help .. we have laid hands on Flossie and Prayed over her as well she has been lifted up by so many friends in prayer that she is truly covered in our Lords grace. I will pray for your dog as well that he/she will have a full recovery and a blessed and healthy remainder of life. Thank you for sharing .. it does help to know there are other's out there going through this and coming through this disease with their beloved pets. If you ever need any help or support always feel free to contact me .. Hugs and Blessings ..Sara

  3. Hello There Sara! I did read your other post too. I have been checking on y'all and often wondering what has happen. Now, I know a part of the rest of the story. Believe me, I've known of some hard times too. So very thankful God's grace was always sufficient to see me through. I was excited about you all moving to Texas. That where I live but my dad was born and raised in MO :) he was from Ray Co. He came to Texas in the early 1900's Then I keep reading and saw that was not going to work out :( goodness! I will be praying for y'all! I sure did not like reading about your dear sweet Flossie. Last Oct I had to put my sweet Duchess down, as she had lived her lifespan out she was 15. She had gone blind and could hardly get around! Bless her heart, it was so hard to do. But there is no medicine for old age and my Vet thought since she did not even remember me it was time. I pray for peace for anyone who has to do what is best for a loving animal. Who has lived their lifetime with someone. I will be praying for Flossie to recover. It was good to read she was better today! Lots of hugs, Judy

    1. Hey Judy .. so good to hear from you .. Oh my yes what a long road it's been for us this last year .. but gosh in comparison to other people's lives it's by far so minute .. nonetheless it's been trying to say the least. Yes we have had our share of hard times just like you and just like you it's always been the Grace of God that has seen us through .. thank the Lord !! Oh gosh we did love TX .. I feel in love with a small town "Weatherford" TX just west of Fort Worth .. we did look there but in the end decided in the long run financially we could get more for out money with less property taxes in MO .. and we do have at least some friends in MO ..where we had no on in TX ... I'm so sorry to hear about Duchess .. I do know the pain of losing a pet after so many years so I can truly sympathize with you. I had two Golden Retrievers prior to Flossie one lived till she was 13 and the other 17 ..and I had both since the age of 6 weeks ..It's so hard to lose them..and so hard to have them put down ..I know the pain of that too as you do not an easy road but one that sometimes is best. I'm sure Duchess will hold a special place in your heart and one day will be wagging her tail to greet you at the pearly gates .. !!! I know I'll be looking for my girls Maggie and Scout ..
Take Care Judy and thanks for leaving a comment it was such a blessing ! Hugs Sara

  7. Oh Sara, I'm just now getting caught up with you... there are days I don't even turn on my computer; I'm so sorry you've been through so much! I'm praying that God will lead you completely and in certainty. If you make it back here to Springfield be sure and let me know. Hopefully, I'll be better soon. Right now I don't even get out unless my husband drives me. My surgery is next week, and I'm hoping for the best. The possibility for a second bypass surgery is still out there. I'm praying, my friend. and again I'm so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. sending a big hug and lot's of love, Debra
