Rosette Party Today ...

I'm Participating in the Rosette Party Today ... Hosted by the French Cupboard ..

This is such a last minute in a hurry thing for me ..and of course wouldn't it figure I've made tons of rosettes lately and did I take pictures of them ...NO ...

I even set up for our show yesterday where I have rosettes on several of my new offerings ..but by the end of setting up my feetsies were really hurting and mad at me for all the hours of torture I put them through ..that I went off and didn't take picts of my set up ...Grrrr ..(but I'll get picts tomorrow)

So here are a couple picts of my lace rosettes that I have made to adorn our Farmhouse Romance Apron Line ...We have a little secret about our aprons we can't share yet ..but we will share when we can.

This Strawberrys in Cream apron has a lovely lace Rosette I made ..I love how the lace gives them that natural aged bohemian style !!!

This Farmhouse Party apron has another one of my Lace rosettes attatched to the pocket ..Simply Perfection !!!

Stormy Weather ..Garden of Rust ..and the Urban Barn ..

A little Stormy Weather passed our way yesterday and only if it would have stayed ..I would have been thrilled ..

However I was so thankful for the "Suprise" little storm that passed over us ...

The wind picked up and the clouds rolled in and it stopped for about an hour and rained off and on ...

The Lake looked Beautiful with all the drops falling in ...

And the Flowers couldn't have been more thankful either ...

On another note I have been preparing for the Urban Barn Show this coming Friday and Saturday ...I must admit I haven't gotten all I had hoped for finished ..My feet really set me back ..those injections I got ...well they didn't work and actually made my feet worse ..I am still hobbling on one foot as I can't put any pressure on the heel at all now. What's a girl to do !!!

Well I'll tell you what a girl does ...she puts her Big Girl Panties on and deals with it and makes the best of a bad and painful situation...LoL !!

I'm not giving up ..just having to slow down a bit ...which means some things I just couldn't get done for this show ..but that doesn't mean I won't have a great variety of offerings that are still wonderful ...

The one thing I was able to do ..because it allowed me to sit for long periods of time ..was to get some Great Garden Signs made up ..I always say Garden Signs ..but they can actually be used indoors as well. ...One of the gals Sherry that bought my Bird Bath sign ..hung it in her bedroom ..I'm sure it's just stunning !!!

I thought I'd give you a sneek peek at one of the signs I have been working on the last day ...I kind of went off the edge with this one ...and went with a French Saying that Abbey and I loved ...

Jardin de Rouille ... (Garden of Rust) .... gotta love that ...with all those old motel chairs ..rusty garden flowers and wonderful architectural finds adding charm to our gardens ..that could not describe a Vintage garden any better....

Of course I'm not the best at taking pictures ..so the picture above just doesn't do it justice ..but if your headed to the show ..you'll get to see it in person...

I Love adding and embellishing the signs I do ..making every one a one of a kind ...this one has old rustic hardward pieces added to it ..with hinges and chain that it hangs from ....

Of course ...I always use reclaimed lumber ...this piece is great good and wide ..nice and long and rustic, chippy white paint to top it all off ...

Sweet Peas And Spider Webs ...

Yesterday ...when the earthquake hit ...this is what I was working on ....


Some new signs for our upcoming show ...


I was just putting the finishing touches on my new Sweet Peas Sign ...when we started rocking and rolling ...LOL !!!

I love using the subtle muted tones of aqua ..light Blue and Pink ..then giving them a nice aged look ..and adding some one of a kind elements ..this sign has sweet little sparrows flying ...with an antique wheelbarrow and some watering cans ....Along with some gorgeous metal flowers with wire vine and metal leaves ...Of course I love to add old chain to the top ..keeping all the elements old ...rustic..chippy and vintage ...really give it that authentic appeal ..that's it's been in a garden for years and years...

This sign will be headed to our show in July at the Urban Barn ..it sells for $62- It's good size ....over 3 ft. in length... and it's a nice wide piece of reclaimed lumber with original worn paint ...

Today ....I thought I would share some amazing pictures of Spider Webs that Abbey took a few weeks back while we were waiting to get into an Estate Sale.

We are both always intrigued and amazed at the beauty of Spider Webs ...

Isn't this Gorgeous with the early morning sun sparkling through it ! ( you can click on the pictures to enlarge them)

This one was tucked into the Ice Plant ....

This Beauty is hard to see without clickin on the picture it's just in the top Left middle ..and it's Brilliant the way it's perfectly attatched to all the leaves ...

Spiders are an amazing little creature ...this year we have had a huge influx of spiders in our yard ..more than in recent years ..I guess it's the nice weather they are enjoying .. Along with the influx of spiders in general ..we have had a large amount of Black Widows ..we were a bit concerned and thought we should read up on them and educate ourselves in case of a bite ...

In learning about the widows we found out that the spiders that weave the Beautiful webs are the good spiders ....they are the ones that catch the mosquitos ..and all the little bugs that are bothersome....The Spiders that make the webs that are all craggy and and a mess those are the ones that are the not so nice spiders ...

I'm always amazed at all the little Creatures God thought to put on this earth ..a simple Spider ..that weaves a web a 100 times it's own size and makes a Pattern that is just breathtaking in such a short time ..is simply amazing to me.....

Earthquake ...

Well it's been minutes since we just had an earthquake ..it was measured at a 5.9 ...Were we are located .it felt much stronger and worse than anything we have felt here in the last 6 months. or for that much any I have ever felt in our area.

Wow we got 2 huge jolts about 4 seconds apart with some severe shaking.

I was working in the backyard ..and it really was a strange feeling this time ...Abbey came running from in the house it was so severe feeling and sounding.

Our house was creaking and the patio cover cracked so loud I thought it was going to come down ..

Maggie was laying in the Yard ..the first jolt scared her so bad she stood up to come to me and the second jolt knocked her to the ground ...

I have lived in So Cal all my life and this was honestly the scariest earthquake I have felt ...

We're o.k. just a bit shaken ...ROFL !!!

A little Tattered, a Little Worn ..

It's a Beautiful Wednesday ..a Beautiful "White Wednesday"...

At our last show in June at the Chateau De Fleurs ..Abbey and I offered for the first time our Farmhouse Romance Aprons ...

This one was one of my favorites...

The Gal that bought this one perfectly titled it "Gypsy" ..and I couldn't agree more ..it definetely has that Gypsy style and appeal.

I'm going to be making more of this style ..it seemed to be the one people were most drawn too ..although I think all of our designs were loved.

I Love working with old lace..vintage trims..and vintage facrics. Texture and design really touches me to my inner core. And what comes out when I'm making my OOAK designs ..is my true being .." A Little Tattered and A Little Worn"

That describes me Beautifully !!

I can remember from the time I was little being a "Tom Girl" ..I loved to make mud pies ...and even early on ...I tried breaking out and making a window in our barn ..at the mere age of 9 or 10 ( not sure exactly) I guess all this creating was there early on and just not recognized.

In the 80's when acid wash Jeans came out and they were strewn with patches and holes ..who Loved them ..."ME" ... I can remember my parents scratching there heads at why I would love old torn up clothing ..and ask them to pay good hard earned money for it ...LOL !! However they indulged my desires and I did get a few pairs and I Loved them !!!

My Niece who is now I believe 13 ..came over the other day with my Sis (her mom) ..and had her torn up jeans on ...I see nothing has changed in the design world too much other than they weren't acid wash but stone washed I'm guessing ....

Tattered and Worn ..is a perfect description of me inside and out ..No perfection ..no High Maintenance ...Just Naturally what God Made me. Working out every day ..who I am ..where I am headed ...and giving my hands and my heart to him who created me to create what He places in me.

This week ..I'm a bit scattered ...I have 3 work stations set up ...One Jewelry ..One for Signs and the other For Totes and Purses ..I seem to be bouncing all around. Yesterday I made a tote and a purse ...Very similar to the Aprons we are making ..and I will be offering them at our next show at the Urban Barn ..July 16th- 18th ..( see sidebar for info) ..

Remember to be who you are and not who you think the world wants you to be. Be true to what you love ...and what flows out of your soul.
