But first off I want to tell you a little about all these amazing Ball Goods we received in the mail ourselves ..

*******************

If you are a home Canner or want to Get started Home Canning .. these products are a great way to get that boost ...

Of course hands down .. these American Heritage Ball jars be they Pint or Quart Size are just charming in their stunning Vintage Green Glass ! And Perfect For Fall and Christmas.. ...Gotta  Love them ..! They are made beautifully and  are just Perfection rather you are a home canner, or you just want to use them to store dry goods , use them as vases or make your kitchen super cute !  Although I would love to say we are home canner's .. we are not .. Owning a full time business just doesn't leave the time for us to do canning at this time in our life .. But Abbey was a home canner when I was a little girl .. And has been a home cook all of her years thus far. So Canning has been part of our home at one time.

*****

The Ball 100 year Anniversary Blue Book Guide to Preserving .. is Chock full of great Recipes from your favorite spread or jam to pickled and brined foods or putting up your favorite fruits and more. It walks you through getting started with the canning process .. and provides some vintage illustrations as well as some fabulous picts of canned foods you want to pull out of the pages and eat  !

******

The Ball 5- Blade Herb Scissors .. are well made .. great comfortable grip handles along with stainless steel blades .. superb for cutting herbs ... so much better than trying to chop them with a dull knife like we unfortunately have had the pleasure of doing here at the farmhouse .. LOL ! Especially getting the cilantro ready for our Homemade Chicken Fajitas Marinade .these would have come in and will come in very handy in the future.  These even come  with a blade cover so it keeps them in good condition but hey lets face it the cover really saves the frustration of the blades entangling with other utensils that are stored in the same drawer .

*****

And we can't forget the Dry Herb Jars ... These hold 4 oz of yummy dry herbs ... fresh from your garden .... the bases are a nice thick heavy weight glass .. ( made well) ... and the lids are plastic with a pop/snap top that opens the center of the lid and reveals the shaker .. Nice open holes ..not to small and not to big just right .. (kind of like Goldilocks finding the right bed).. Perfect for shaking those dry herbs while cooking ...

*****

The Fresh Herb Keeper and the Frozen Herb Starters .. didn't make it to me yet .. so I can't tell you all a lot about them .. other than to say the quality of the items I have received thus far is awesome so going by that these other 2 items I'm sure they will be just as lovely.. I'll do an update as soon as they arrive. Just know that the other 2 items are also part of the Grand Prize...and they are not pictured.

The Marketplace ~ at Common Ground

This Week for Marketplace Monday ... which is hosted by Debra of Common Ground..

We are continuing our celebration of the canning jar.

One of our items we linked up and are featuring

Are these ever so charming Masons Canning Jar Salt and Pepper Set.

These have that wonderful Cornflower blue color to the glass and are made from recycled glass.

They are embossed on both sides "Masons Patent Nov 30th 1858"

Plus I love how thick the glass is that makes these S&P's up. not thin and flimsy at all ..and they are loaded with stray's and bubbles which is just exceptional...

And they have the nicest aluminum lids that screw on nice and tight too..

I'm one of those people that loves to take an item that's meant for one use and use it for another .. so I was thinking about these and what else they could be used for ..Of course they would make such charming glitter shakers .. they would also be so lovely filled with fresh lavender.. These would even be charming mini vases for a single Fresh Picked Daisy... But My favorite still being just what they were made for Salt and Pepper.

A Good Old Fashioned Farm Table Set with these is just positively Country Chic.

If you would like to pick up a set for your Farm Table or to give as a Gift ...

You can do so by visiting our Blog Shop HERE

OR

Our Etsy shop HERE.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
P.S. be sure and visit Debra at Common Ground's Marketplace if you have an online store or an Etsy Shop etc. and link up one of your items for sale.
Also be sure and Keep Debra and her husband in your prayers this week as Debra's husband will be undergoing surgery for Meiner's Disease .. Not sure if I got the name totally correct. However it's an inner ear issue that causes problems with equilibrium and many other effects and it is life altering. So they are surgically putting in a shunt  behind his ear to drain off the fluids. I don't know much more than that but it's more than enough ... and my heart goes out to them this week.
Sweet Magnolias Farm ~ Free Giveaway ~ Celebrating 100 Years of the Iconic Blue Ball Jar ~ 6 Winners
Abbey and I are absolutely Thrilled to bring you this amazing "Free" giveaway here at Sweet Magnolias Farm !!!
Several weeks ago we were contacted by the Ball Canning Products and asked if we would be willing to do a review on their new Iconic blue American Heritage Collection Vintage Style Jars. They would send us a case in return for the review ...
Well of course we said "YES" ... for heavens sake we have collected all kinds of Canning jars for years and have a pretty hefty collection that we dearly love ..and the thought of adding their new 100 Year Anniversary Jars to our collection was just exciting ...
Well in our agreement we asked them if they would be willing to send us a second case .. Yes gals ..we were thinking of you !  In return we would giveaway the 2nd case and add a little something of our own to go with it ..and they graciously agreed to do so ... .More on the giveaway in a minute .... hint hint ...I hear there just might be 6 Winners..
                       ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~
So these fabulous Vintage Style Anniversary Ball Jars that are now available through Ball .. as you can see are in the Iconic blue color .. and just as lovely as the true vintage ones. They come in this charming blue and brown period - inspired  packaging ... Love the design ... reminds me of the old old boxes we have found over the years that canning jars came in and how great the graphics were ..I love that they reminisced this even in the box !
The jars are beautifully made .. and sturdy .. of course Made in the U.S.A. we wouldn't expect less now would we ..
 And
 We just had to show the New Jar along side of our 2 authentic Vintage Jars on the cake plate above. They actually look so good together the new and the old .. The Lighter softer blue of the authentic Vintage jars with the Brighter Blue of the New Jars compliment one another so perfectly.
The other Fabulous thing about the new Anniversary Jars is that on the back they are embossed
1913 ~ 1915
100 Years of
American
Heritage
 Made in the U.S.A
(The  Years 1913-1915 represent when this style logo  "Perfect Mason" was embossed on the jars)
Abbey and I Love that Ball specially marked these Jars for the Ball Anniversary ..It makes them so special and so unique and what a great collectors item too !
Here at the farmhouse I must admit we don't do a lot of canning.. Way back in the olden days Abbey used to do canning and was even self-taught. I understand that canning is popular once again among all ages ..and that's fabulous ! It would be so much fun to purchase a set of these if your a home canner and add that special preserves or jam you make for giving gifts throughout the year..
But Canning Jars aren't just for Canning anymore now are they !
If your like us .. these are positively charming for sippin some sweet tea or a nice ice cold coca cola. I'm sure we may have to throw in some dessert too and fill em up with apple pie mixins or a hot fudge sundae and eat er straight from the jar .. It's the jar that makes it special and makes the fun in servin it and the fun in eatin it too !
Thanks so much to Ball ... for sending us these beautiful Anniversary Jars to add to our collection and to share with our Blog Friends !
You can grab yourself some ball jars rather it be for Canning, Eating , Decorating, Or how lovely they would look at a Country Chic Farmhouse Wedding ! ...
Grab yourself some "limited Edition" Anniversary canning Jars at Balls Fresh Preserving Store HERE
UPDATE 4/22/13 I know several of you have said that the blue ball jars are sold out at the ball store.. I contacted them this morning and they don't have a date to give us when they will re-stock them ..They said Joanns and Michaels carry them ..and I Googled "Ball American Heritage Jars" .. and several shops come up that appear to have them for sale so you might try that too. I know they are limited edition but not sure what that means will they make more or not ? ... Hope that helps some.
Giveaway at Sugar Pie Farmhouse And Valentines Day Already !!!
Well we all must admit we love the word "FREE" ..and the word "GIVEAWAY" right behind it....
Anything in life anymore in the everyday world that says "Free" usually always has a catch or strings attatched to it and that's such a sad thing.
I remember in my early years of growing up the wonderful giveaways that were offered at Gas stations, or the grocery store ... it truly kept buyers coming back and made going shopping just a bit more fun...
My Parents reminisce about the good old days of blue chip stamps and the set of aluminum cups they got for drinking Ice Cold Kool Aid in ... remember Kool Aid .. gosh I loved that as a kid .. however that was a very and I mean very great once and a while we got that as kids it was a treat for us ... and therefore it was all the more treasured and it made for memorable times.
I'm sure many of you can remember the "Good Ol' Days" ... when Mom and Pop ran a large portion of this country ... well there's still a few of us Mom and Pop business running today .. still offering handmade products ..and still having Truly "FREE" Giveaways.
Aunt Ruthie of Sugar Pie Farmhouse .. is servin up a dose  of  Good Old Fashioned Down Home Goodness with a Free Giveaway ....
Below ..is one of our Farmhouse Flour Sack Towels and the matching hotpad with one of our cute burlap wrapped hangers .. to display them on if you so please .. and this is what our Sweet Aunt Ruthie is givin away ...But she didn't stop there ...there's more ...
This adorable Metal Chalkboard .. Now how darling is this !!! ...
An Enamelware Candle Holder ..
A Batter operated Candlelight
and
a Wonderful 1803 Candle ...
And it just doesn't end ... She's also throwin in this positively charming "The Farmer's Wife" Cookbook ...Now doesn't that just take us all down memory lane where many of us would like to live again !
So there's lots of wonderful Farm Goods that are being offered up for "Free" ..just because we can and just because it's a good feeling to give with no strings attatched and put a smile on someones' face... Giving does a heart good it's medicine for the soul .. !
If you haven't been to Aunt Ruthies blog .. well your in for an absolute treat .. and if you have ..well go on over and enjoy her new post about being a blessing in the New Year and sign up for the Free Giveaway ... ! ..Just click HERE
************************************************
And it's hard to believe but in just a little over a month .. we once again Embark on another of our holidays "Valentines Day" ... Seriously ..it's already here and yes I started being asked about Valentines Towels just a few days after Christmas ... You girls are so on it !
Well I was a bit ahead of you this year and already had my Valentines designs ready before Christmas ..Yep I was on it this year ..LOL ! Actually truth is several of the shops that I design for were giving me dates they needed there Valentines by ..so I had to be ahead of the game .. I cannot tell you as a designer how odd it is to be listening to Christmas Music ..and thinking of Snow and Hot Cocoa ..and being in the mood to design Valentines images. At that time it seemed like so long off ..however it came much quicker than I anticipated and a little heart ache (no pun intended) came with it too.
Here I was ahead of the game this year with all my designs and ready to get all my offerings out there to everyone in record time ..and literally the day I had just finished my last design for all my new offerings .. I clicked the on button on my computer to bring it out of it's sleep mode and the thing lit up like a Christmas tree ..and that was it ..couldn't get it to do anything .. Well rather than going into a long story about all of it... the end result the Hard Drive went out on a 1 yr old computer and everything was "GONE" ... yep ..all that design work down the tubes ! ...My heart was so sick ... I spend many hours putting together designs and all the work I had just put in for over a week gone .. I hadn't yet saved it all to my memory stick .. which was completely my fault ..and lets just say "Lesson Learned."
Now I have learned over the years stressing out immediately is Normal .. I allow myself that momentary "Oh My Gosh" ...."Now What" moment and the frenzy of trying to fix it all in 10 seconds flat which I know is not going to happen ..but my brain always convinces me it's possible so I try and then realize ..who's hands I need to put it all into and that I just need to stop and pray even if it is a quick "Lord Please Help."   And I always try and look at the bright side .. I am blessed to have the ability to do the work over .. I am blessed that my computer was warrantied and it's being repaired for free.. I am blessed that I was able to purchase another computer in the meantime and I am blessed that I had all my other work saved and didn't lose everything ! and I am blessed to now own an external Hard drive where I can store all my work in  a secondary location ...
There's a lot to be thankful for when I  look at the big picture.
So with that experience behind me I began work once again .. and I'm pretty much caught up ..
I just listed my 3 new Valentine designs in our Etsy Shop this week ... As many of you know and have shared with me these make wonderful gifts.. A great way to show your "Love" ...and they also add a whole lot of Farmhouse Charm to your own Home Sweet Kitchens ..
There are also (3) new every day towels and (7) New for 2013 Hand towels that we are offering for the first time here at the farmhouse. You can check those out by visiting the shop.
So stop in even if it's just for fun and take a gander even if you don't buy something it'll just make your heart happy ... You can visit our ETSY shop HERE
